Over the next few months one of my favorite electronic music acts, Symbion Project aka Kasson Crooker, will be making his prior output available on Bandcamp for the generous price of name-your-price. The first album that he has chosen to offer for free also happens to be one of my favorites,
Misery in Soliloquy [Exposed]. It is a stripped-down version of his watershed release
Misery in Soliloquy, on which he displayed a more personal side of himself in the wake of his departure from Freezepop. On [
Exposed] the vocals and drums have been stripped away, revealing just how incredibly textured the music is and in the process the whole mood and atmosphere of the album go through a drastic change, revealing a new side of itself. I in fact prefer it to the original album, but that all comes down to personal preference. I would also be amiss if I didn't mention the incredible artwork which complements the original album. Simply gorgeous.
Kasson has also generously dropped the price of the physical CD to mere $4 plus shipping if you want to drop a few bucks Kasson's way so he can expand his vintage analog synth collection etc.
