My K10 sounds so good out of my iPhone, I can't possibly imagine it sounding any better (or being able to tell the difference if it it did).

Oh it will!

Completely agree with you on the George Ezra CD.  I had it on 16/44 listening with K10 on AK240 and I thought it was horrible.  Like you said the bass is a mess.  then I bought the 24/96 one which improves a little bit.  Now with K10 and AK380 the bass is still quite messy but has been tamed I guess because the better sound quality of AK380.

I love that CD so much I bought the vinyl and I can assure you that the sound is the best on vinyl.  I think the recording of the CD is just badly done.  The dynamic range is like 3/4 as far as I can remember.  Which version do u have?

Further proof that HD recordings are so reliant on the quality of the mastering.

Initial report on the Savant Prestige:

These are the things I notice vs. K10 as of 10 hours burn in, I am not considering this a review.

1. much less bass response
2. wider soundstage (stock cable)
3. harsher highs, but not as harsh as the 4S. Somehow the Savant reminds me of a refined Noble 4S.
4. Sounds amazing with metal...
5. Still above everything, it retains Noble mids.

Sounds interesting. Ill b grtting a savant unit hopefully in a week or two. Sounds like ill be enjoying their sound. The main gripe i had listening to the k10u was the bass being a bit more generous than id like

I'm just hoping the universal fit is more comfortable then my ER4s and has better bass and fullness in the mids.  ER4s have great high end extension I love and so hoping these meet or exceed in that dept as well.  If they win on all or any of those counts (especially comfort) I will be selling my ER4s.

Oh trust me, there will be improvements, and yes, you will be able to tell the differences.

Try comparing an iPhone (6?) to a Fiio X5 / DX90, and then on to a TOTL Astell & Kern DAP or a portable DAC like the Hugo. You'll be amazed with what the K10 can do with each successive step up the ladder. Of course, be sure to use at least 320 MP3 and/or FLAC files.
