Spiral Ear SE5way owner here, no issues at all. Also I didn't see anyone complaining about their products.

I've been doing this for about 10 years now (repairs for other brands etc) and it is a problem, another issue was moisture getting into the shell via the cable insertion point. The moisture (sweat) would essentially rot out the wires, it wasn't a pretty sight. Noble silicones have detachable cable so I wouldn't expect this would be a problem

We have had silicone hearing aids available for decades, they never really became the rage as well due to broken wires. That said the wires used in noble ciems are about three times thicker than what is found in hearing aids

is Spiral Ears the only one making silicone shells? did you surf the whole world wide web to know that no one have had issues with silicon ciems? since when you represent all the silicone ciems owners and know that they haven't had any problems with them?

I tried matte years ago as an experiment & decided against it. All it essentially is, is an unlacquered ciem. I found it to be boreing and really nothing to get excited about. Also, the lacquer is a hypoallergenic material which protects you, so overall, I don't recommend it or offer it..

Ok no problems thanks. Are you able to engrave things into the wood plates? I was thinking of a mountain theme. Maybe a wood plate with a cream mountain engraved in?

You can disagree with his reasoning, but no need to be aggressive.

Your statement was a blanket statement that would have included spiral ears. If it was the case that all silicone ciems were inherently poor and were destined for premature failure I highly doubt there would be any demand for silicone ciems nor would there be any companies that base their entire revenue around silicone ciems.

I'd be the first to state that silicone ciems have issues, but so do acrylic products. The bottom line is, handle them with a high degree of care, no matter the type of build, if you want to prolong their life.

Sure we can ingrave wood but we certainly don't recommend it as that usually detracts from the wood. It would be best if u sent the image in question over to nancy@nobl.com or to me in order to determine if it can be done.

I thought you liked to experiment. Don't you feel like building your first ugly CIEM?!

You don't account for anything with a custom. You get impressions done of your ears, then they make the shell to fit your ears.
