Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

The universal has just been announced on their official Facebook page.

"We have reason to believe Noble offices were broken into last night and valuable documents stolen. Kaiser Soze was working late and recognized the culprit, known in some circles as "The Jackal." He is a master of disguise and is of no allegiance to anyone. We have decided to make the documents in question available to the public, thereby decreasing their value.

Noble IEMs will be available for pre-order during our 72-hour Black Friday sale. All IEMs will have a pre-Christmas projected delivery date, more details to follow on Monday."

Please be on the look out for "The Jackal" more photos will be made available as they come in:

I wonder how many BA's they will be able to fit in one universal. EarSonics put 6, apparently JH Audio will put 12 per ear. Not that I count on BA's (I don't believe in more BA = better sound) but it is interesting to see how Wizardry and Sorcery can effect those processes.

When a universal IEM is hand made, the size limitations are fewer, as the housing can be quickly adapted to fit just about any number of drivers.  The IEM that Noble is offering does not utilize a hand made shell as hand made shells offer a cornucopia of problems.

IE:

  1. slow build time
  2. high failure rate
  3. left and right shells are not concise or consistant with each other
  4. ear canal/ear tip portion problematic
  5. color matching
  6. long repair times
  7. costly repair

and the list can go on

people have reported issues with silicone ciems(from other companies), since is a soft shell for the components inside, the small cables that are soldered to the drivers tend to break with time, people better find out the pros/cons of silicone ciems, is better to play it safe with acrylic shells.

Really can't wait till the black Friday sale. Going to get me some 10c's! Got to make a decision on the aesthetics though

Question for the Noble guys: are matte colours possible?

I tried matte years ago as an experiment & decided against it. All it essentially is, is an unlacquered ciem. I found it to be boreing and really nothing to get excited about. Also, the lacquer is a hypoallergenic material which protects you, so overall, I don't recommend it or offer it..

The above is true for a silicone design in which the drivers are encapsulated in silicone (literally embedded in silicone). Noble does not utilize such a build method, the concha area of the silicone is hollowed out and the drivers are placed "free standing" within the silicone shell much like an acrylic shell. That being said the walls on a silicone shell are much more thicker and this is why there are a limited amount of products that Noble offers in silicone.

Regardless, if a person opts for acrylic over silicone we are still happy folks

Spiral Ear SE5way owner here, no issues at all. Also I didn't see anyone complaining about their products.
