I'n asking for the 3rd time. May I have the courtesy of a reply please. It's kind bad business to just leave me hanging. John and or Brannan what are the sound differences according to the company line? If your not going to answer could you just say that.

Or maybe you could send an email to support?

+1. The title of the thread is 'Noble Audio - the Wizard Returns' (would like to see that film) not 'Noble Audio Virtual Help Desk and Water Cooler'. Brannan and John have said numerous times to posters send an email if you have any design questions, otherwise this thread would twice as long and boring as hell. Use common sense.

Plus it is the weekend.

Also note that the Noble staff are currently in Tokyo for the Portafes portable music convention.

A couple of things

A - I'm attending a show in Tokyo, I don't have a lot of time to stop by on head fi.  (Sorry if u feel neglected)

B - "sound difference according to the company line?"

Here is the thing, it is difficult to go into the sound quality of the Katana as I don't want to pigeon hole the Katana.   The Katana was made due to the fact, there will be some people (hard to fathom, but it is possible) that may not like the K10, and they may opt for a different product/brand.   Rather than lose potential customers, the Katana was created (a co-flag ship) type product.

I don't like to give my in depth view regarding products as my thoughts can be construed as biased.

During the show today, one fellow said, "It sounds like the Katana would be best for classical type music, the K10 is more raw etc etc"

the responses have been mixed from:

I am glad I have the K10's and I prefer the K10 over the Katana

to

I prefer the Katana over the K10

to

I want both the K10 and the Katana

which is really the type of responses I expected to hear

  Ok folks

I spent the day watching people demo the Katana at the Tokyo show.   The comments were positive, but that could be because I was standing over their shoulder....

But the comments were essentially this.

1) "The Katana gave me goose bumps"       Not sure if that is a good thing, but I'll take that as a good thing

2) "I own the K10's and I prefer the K10s over the Katanas"

3) "I prefer the Katanas over the K10's"

4) "Sound so realistic and open"

5) "Was considering another brand, but now I want the Katanas"

6) "The Katanas are not as heavy as the K10"

That about sums things up

Again, I was there shaking hands, meeting folks, etc etc.   They could have been just being very polite, so all I can do, is repeat what was said

Cheers

Looks like you've created a worthy contemporary to the K10. I don't know which I'd prefer (of course), but if it rivals the K10 in sheer emotion, I'd say, good job, guys!

Now, get it released already!
