According to the manual, it should work. Maybe try a power cycle. Then contact Kingwa.
My tube integrated amp I was trying the R27 in dac mode with seems to be having problems, so I don't think it's the R27's issue but I have to do more testing.. thanks for responding to my post! Wish this thread was more active, but I guess a quiet thread means everyone is happy and content with their gears :)

Is your integrated good for a 2.5v signal?

I haven't started a dedicated thread on it, but Kingwa is doing a group-buy on the DAC-19.20. Would be interesting to find out what a dual PCM-1704K DAC would sound like with the full modern treatment and firmware that removes the famous bass bloat.

DAC-19.20 group buy

Based on some customers asked for the DAC-19.20, during 1st. to 10th. Dec. we accept the DAC19.20 group buy.
Customer who want to purchase the DAC19.20 ,

I would almost guarantee it would sound better than the previous model. The M7 (8 x PCM1704s) converted to Singularity digital (2016) is doing very well with the latest R7 firmware (dsd_clock). Along with Accusilicon XOs, opamp swap, and analog board electrolytic cap changes to Nichicon muse caps. The 8 year old M7 sounds better every year and rivals the R7 PCM.

My M7S (the last ever made by Kingwa when he "reissued" it in Nov 2018), with the R7 dsd_clk firmware, Accusilicon XOs, OP2140 DC servo opamps, fed by the Icron USB extender bridge to its stock Amanero USB input, is more neutral than my other Sabre DACs, with incredible layering.

It is very likely one of the best PCM1704 DAC ever/last made, second only to the few "reissued" HE7 units Kingwa offered in late 2019.

2, USB apply the bidirectional isolator that can transmit the IIS signal to the FPGA processor and receive the clock signal from the FPGA processor, the USB interface without on board data clocks, the signal transmit is much exact, the sound quality get the much improve , similar to the last generative R-7 combine with DI-20 (But not DI-20HE) level. (New Feature)
3, HDMI input apply isolator for improve the sound quality . (New Feature)

It is very tempting to get a HE version.
It is. But every time I feel I must buy one I just look at the price and decide I can't buy one until I hit the lottery or get a much better job :D

There is a note in the bottom of the announcement as to all dac can be upgraded to the latest spec by swapping in new amanero and hdmi i2s boards, and flashing a new fw.

Older R-1,R-8,R-8HE,R-27 and R-28 models upgrade to 2021 Edition guide will public soon

So as long as the cable are not soldered in your dac, this will be a relatively easy upgrade.

We will know for sure what's involved once the upgrade procedures are released.

Last time I spoke to Kingwa he said it would not be possible to upgrade the current and previous R7HE models to the new 2021 edition because of modifications to all analog and digital boards and chassis layout. However this was 6 months ago and maybe he figured out an upgrade path.
