And just when I said I wasn't going to get anymore phones,they have to come out with these.I love the sound of my K501s with some kinds of music.Jazz gutiar sounds really good with them.Larry Correls "Timeless" and "Tricle",and John Schrollfield "Enroute" sound fantastic through the K501s.I bet the new cans with their better bass response sound even better.

I read the comment that that are to replace the K1000.. I was confused, I don't see how that could be: they don't compare in terms of design, price, specs, etc...

I was the one who said the K701 seemed to be a replacement for the K1000---just some idle speculation based on some of the early comments I saw on the phones. Like everyone else I want to have a listen as well, especially since I was about to pull the trigger on some K501's.
