According to the latest information from the Swiss distributor the new models will be available in November.

Wieso «einige Stunden»? Ich hoffe doch, etwas länger...

Honestly November, what are they waiting for Christmas?! I don't what my Akgs under a tree, I want them now! If there's another trade fair soon someone should sneak in with a large hat and borrow them for a day or two!

Just in case anyone calls the AKG mafia, that was a joke. I don't anyone to be subjected to box-room interoggation via confined Yodelling!

Does anyone happen to know the prices? I'm having trouble getting to their website.

Sorry, had the website displayed in Hybrid mode and didn't know how to navigate the thread. My bad.

That's it, after reading all this I want some K601's.

More importantly I have written off the DT880 in favor of the K501 for my next can purchase (and I'll even save money).
I would order them this moment, but I know I am going to get charged for those HF-1's in the next week or so, with them soon to follow in the mail....so I should probably hold off for a few months.

Someone should study the relationship between reading theads on Head-Fi and spending one's money.

When hell freezes over... the HD580/600/650 have an incredibly huge and powerful established base. Won't happen, man.

Yeah, really. And we need to see if these new AKG's (speaking of the K701 particularly) will really do the job of being a "reference" for a large share of people.

K1000 can't be improved further?

I want some black K2000 earspeakers without a PCB and better drivers. The speakers could also be bigger and you can have them further away from your head (10-20 cm), a little extra weight is no problem for me. Many use power amps for K1000 so the extra power needed is no problem.
