Edit: I'll just add that I totally get the attraction to the 8.A. Everything written about them is glowing and build quality looks top notch.

I look forward to hearing your impressions. If they have the mids of the ES5 but with a quicker and punchier bass then it will be very tempting despite the import tax.
 
The Heir Audio 8.A alone cost £1059 (~$1696) in the UK without the cost of impressions. They kill you with taxes here either way.

I don't think the discount is available in the UK. There is only one on-line seller and there is no mention of a discount.

Yes, that 8.A discount is only valid for direct orders from Heir Audio's webstore. Then, as they'll ship from China, you (and me too) then have to account for extra costs in custom duties and fees...

I have a UM Merlin with hm-801 gamecard and wondering about the second ciem with different sound signature for my collection. Mostly Im listening indie-rock and sometimes electronic music.
Which one ull recommend?

I think their regular price is $1300 and promo price is $975 (25% off, valid until December 10), plus options (there are loads) and $55 of shipping cost. This, plus the customs duties and fees in your country when you get them...

That's a nice setup.
 
The 8.A is similar to the Merlin in terms of having big, chest pounding bass, but it differs everywhere else by having a smoother, more laid back presentation. So that's an option.
 
Then there's the 4.A which is a lot closer to the UM Miracle type presentation. I know a few people who have Merlin/Miracle and say they complement each other well. So adding a 4.A would be a cheaper way to get a similar setup.

I have compared universal sample of Miracle and Heir 4Ai. Very different sound signatures.

No, it's down. I just happen to remember the the price... If you want to order, just go to the Heir Audio thread and ask for their sales email, as I've seen other users there who ordered that way. Or just wait a bit, as I believe they'll solve the problem with their site soon...

I think I'm overall leaning most towards the Heir Audio 8.A.
 
I've omitted the JH16 from my short-list due to the relatively negative experiences I've read people having with them. The Heir Audio just seem to be better in almost every way, or have I been reading misinformation? They apparently are not as refined as the 8.A.
 
The build quality on the MG6PRO have bothered me, and that is why I was leaning more towards the 8.A and ES5. The mids on the ES5 have really intrigued me, but the overall package of the 8.A seem to be of more of what I want.

Edit: I've just read your 8.A review with comparison to the JH16. Which would you say has the quicker and punchier bass out of the two? And which you had more enjoyment of listening to? I've just heard that there are updated models of the JH13 and JH16, do they all now come with this new Freqphase technology? And do you feel it will be a big improvement on your experience with the original JH16? Trying to look for some reviews, but there don't seem to be any on the new JH16.

 
The 8.A is very nice as you can tell from my review, and the price at the moment is quite good!  
 
The JH16 is quicker than the 8.A and they can both punch quite well, but it depends on the track and the type of bass to determine which is punchier.  Which do I enjoy listening to more?  They are both great in their own way and I could use either for many different reasons, but for me the JH16 is better for working out while the 8.A is better for relaxed, low volume listening.  I am not sure what the FreqPhase differences will be, but some reviewers on here will have them, although I don't know of anyone that has an old JH13/16 that will be getting a Freqphase version.

There are many different ways you can go.  For example, the SA-43 and Mi-3 will give you a spacious and laid back presentation while the NT-6, AM4 pro, and IERM will give you a bright and analytical sound, and the Rooth LS6 has a very neutral and liquid sound.  If you can let me know more of what you are looking for exactly, that may help narrow it down.
