Have you tried any interesting materials yet? Like, using a necklace, piece of iron, etc.?

Stunned!

I have tried Cat 6 and USB cables when I used to make interconnects and LODs and they didn't perform as well as Belkin cable or better for me.  Some were better than others, but all weren't as good as audio specific cables.  And check this out.

That's solid right? Have you tried the CAT5 'patch cable' which is stranded? That really worked better for me while the solid wires didn't really made any difference after all those braiding. What I'm using now in my home audio is just two pairs of patch cable for each speaker. I hope I have some left to test for the EM3s.

Posted this in the other multi-customs thread too.

Still deciding on what to get as my first (and probably last) customs.

I've heard UM Miracle, Mage and JH13 demo sets.

Have yet listened to JH16, UERM and ES5.

Of the three that I've heard, I love the JH13 the most.

BIG treble fan here. Coming from the DBA02s, the JH13s were the first pair of phones that outclassed the trebles of my beloved zebras by a margin that made me uncomfortable with the 02s after just 1 hour of listening to the 13s.

Trebles-wise, I LOVED the 13s. The detail, the energy and the non-sibilant nature of the highs.

For the mids, it can do with more smoothness. But details wise still superb.

Bass was tight and controlled. I loved the speed of the bass. Details were also good. Could do with just a little more body. IMO, these are just a little (I can't emphasise more how slight the difference here is) below the sweet spot for bass quantity.

It's hard to find an ES5 demo unit here, or so I was told.

I've heard a few Westones universals and are convinced by their mids. No qualms there. What I need to know about the ES5s is regarding their treble and bass. Do I get the same energetic and detailed treble I get from the JH13s? Bass quantity wise how do they compare to the JHs?

I would find some time to try the JH16s out to really confirm my stance regarding bass. Didn't have the luxury of time to do so today, unfortunately.

Definitely a toss-up between the ES5 and the two JHs, though.

Totally feel your situation there, my friend. Having only heard the 13s, I can't really help but am interested to hear the replies to your question.

I believe the answer Anaxilus gave via the ES5 vs. UERM should help.  Comparing the JH16 with the UERM, the UERM has more extension, but then it doesn't!  With test tones the UERM is flatter in general and extends up to 17K while the JH16 extends to 16.5K and then drops off, but test tones become audible again at 18.5K and 19K.

If you like treble and want a little more bass than the JH13, but not as much as the JH16 has to offer (I am only guessing at the JH13 treble since I have only heard a demo, and it didn't sound good or right), you should look into the Rooth LS8.  My JH16 review should be published by Friday and I have comparisons with the UERM, LS8, and others, but the LS8 does have a larger peak and more extension than the JH16 to go along with a slightly more liquid presentation while not giving up detail or clarity.

Cat 5 fibre optic cable makes sense. It is good enough to carry a HD signal then perfect for home audio? Probably excellent over distance?

I could also be way off the mark though lol

just to clarify for average_joe, the prices for Stage 93's customs are in SG dollar, and they prefer to ship within SG too, though international customers are welcome. :)

Thanks for this bro... they already replied and said they can reshell the EM3pro...
Confirmed all prices are in SGD. I'm really tempted specially with that group reshell :D

Dude, probably none of my business, but why in the world do you want to reshell them already? Is the fit not good? if so, wouldnt it be better to send them back to EarSonics albeit being a bit more of a pain in the aXX.
