Anyone thinking of going with either fisher hearing (inearz) or minerva just go for it, shouldn't have any problems with either of them.

Glad they are finally working out for you.  The Cosmic Ears, lol...once you get started it is hard to stop.  If you get them I am looking forward to a comparison.

A better way to put it is can the UE PRM compete with the CIEMs with the highest technical ratings of what I own.  I don't have play favorites and believe people should buy based off their sound signature preferences within their price range.  It is too soon to tell exactly where the PRM stands.

What are you looking to improve upon from the 4.Ai?  I wouldn't consider the IERM, JH16 (JH13), LS6, LS8+, and NT-6 thick or warm.  All have their particular strengths, so it just depends on what you want.

I agree, what PRM offer is actually perfection in matter of fitting each person's taste, because it would be very rare (and very lucky!) to find a IEM/CIEM with all their preferences included without any complaints and/or insufficiency in certain areas.
 
And I'm targeting this baby to be my last journey in portable cans, so I personally don't really have limits on how much should I pay for her, although 2000$ (plus the trip to US) seems to be too much for me
 
I was asking about how do you like the PRM in comparison to the other 2. Totally about your subjectivity and nobody should accept the answer as an absolute truth without trying themselves

I am sure over time there will be additional tuning boxes.  UE is popular down under from what I understand!

PP6 is actually one of the contender for my end of journey in portable cans (also FitEar MH335DW), but I don't feel like carrying another box that requires occasional recharging

do you own the UM Miracle ?? can you give me some brief comparision between the IERM vs Miracle , i heard the JH16 demo before however i feel it was too bassy for me . Actually , i know i will love the IERM's sound sign but i want to know the IERM is worth for spending $1000 on it or there are some better choice for the same sound sign . i love clear , spacious , 3D and no color sound

I read your little review preview, and what you said about the signature potentially changing the technical aspects...something interesting on that --
 
A few months ago, I sat down with a fellow head-fi member at a video production facility to compare 2 LCD-2s.  One of them was mine, equipped with LCD-3 pads, and one of them was stock with regular pads.  We both heard a clear difference in a couple of different areas (including technical areas) but wanted to corroborate with someone totally unfamiliar/unbiased.  So he called over his sound engineer, and we had the guy listen to a couple of test tracks and share his thoughts.  
 
The engineer correlated every perceivable difference, technical or not, to something about the tonal balance.  Air, speed, staging, imaging...everything tied back to the tonal balance for him.  It's understandable, I guess, considering his job.  There are no air or imaging knobs, after all, and he left adjusting levels and balance to achieve exactly what he needs.
 
Anyway, just sharing.  I don't necessarily think he's right, I think there's more to it than just balance, but it's an interesting perspective from someone who's living depends on it.

I had something go awry with a recent sale of mine, so that's set my SE plans back a bit while I sort things out.  I have however, decided that I want silicone in my ears, so it'll be SE when it comes time to order.  I'm also on a running/training program.  This might incidentally make me lose something like 15-20lbs over the next 3-4 months.  Does anyone know if this can affect impressions, and whether it might be prudent to wait?  
 
I might just spring on my next (and hopefully last) transport/DAC/amp, the Invicta, while this running program affects things.

Or you could wait until October. Then the price will jump from $450 to $699. That's a lot closer to $1000!

Unfortunately, no, I don't have a Miracle but from what I have been told, it is V shaped with enhanced bass.  If you like the rest of the JH16, the JH13 might be a good fit, however the LS6 and NT-6 are neutral with clear, spacious, 3D sound.  The NT-6 is more analytical, but still smooth while the LS6 is very liquid but still detailed and clear.

Thanks for sharing.  I agree, tonal balance affects perception of the sound and is the effect of many things ranging from ADSR, FR, and phase.  I will attempt to figure out just how the IERM and PRM compare, if I have the time, but the SE is a great choice!
 
I would wait to make sure you don't have changes in your ear canal as weight gain/loss can affect ear canal size, but it is different for each person.  What happens if you go on the running program, lose the weight, get your custom IEMs made, and then gain the weight back?  Will your CIEMs fit?  If you can get before and after impressions, you can compare the size before and after.  You may have motivation to keep the weight off

Hope so! Didn't have any memory of being there at all (moved out when I was 3 months old), so I hope I can have great fun there (and would the peak be tuning UE PRM? )
 
Umm, I have to disagree there, I've tried Miracle and it has a similar characteristic with the earlier batch of AKG K3003 (leaning to treble), with more refined soundstage.
 
Please note that I've only tried the demo version, and Matt said the customized version have a slight difference, although the initial sound character stays the same.
