Wasn't the USPS parcel box the packaging?

I thought so since there was a mention that it limited the height of the headphone stand. I would rather cost be saved on packaging and just get the headphone to be as cost effective as possible (since there isn't any retail shop to start with).

Apparently there's professional retail packaging for the AD. The parcel box is just an outer packaging formality for shipping.
