Grado SR325is -_-
I know they're like the highest rated of all the Grado headphones and yet they sounded extremely foggy.

LMAO - definitely trolling then ........

Definitely the M50s. They are fun headphones, the kind of headphone you tell your friends to buy when they tell you they want to get the Beat Studios or Beat Solo. But that pronounced V-shape is too much for my tastes. They are the FFVII of headphones; not bad at all! but overrated.
The HD 800 are like watching each individual pixel instead of looking at the whole picture on screen...but I think that's the whole point of the headphone and are really good at doing so, so I don't think it is overrated at all.

Had the Symphones Magnum V4 built by jinteddy and they were really beautiful but I couldn't fall in love with the sound.
Also,I guess my expectations were too high.Experimented with different amps/dacs but they were too timid and delicate...no punch, not even slightly engaging.

outside of head-fi: beats, by far the most shoved down my throat. if i had a nickle for every "you should totally get these, they're DA BOOOMB" getting those LCD2s would be an easier task than expected

Everywhere : Beats by Dre
Head-Fi  : Audio Technica ATH-ES7 and AKG K701

Is the ES7 the kind of chromed-looking non-woodie version of the ESW9?

but noone actually rates beats high.. and im pretty sure he's referring to this website with his post

I think Head-Fi is one of the few places where nobody rates them very high though. :xf_eek:

LCD2 and LCD3. I've auditioned them both on several occasions on several different amps/sources and I just don't hear what it is that makes them all that special. It used to frustrate me, now I've just let it go.

For my ears I much prefer the HE-6 or HD 800.

Personally Grados and HD650s.

Tried everything from the sr60s to the sr325s and they're basically the audio equivalent of papercuts.
I listened to the HD650s at a high end audio shop for like an hour, and brought my D2000s to compare. The Senns sounded lifeless. And I don't remember any redeeming qualities compared to the Denons either. Made me wonder why everyone like them so much, and why they're so expensive. Didn't even feel as well made as my Denons.

The ES7's are hardly mentioned....
The new FOTM are V-modas in my opinion.

Still think it's the HD-600. Sorry! IMO the HD-580 is much better and uses the same driver. Wish they never discontinued it....
( didn't say I hated it)
