honestly.... could really care how they look.   To me it is about the sound!  I mean after buying 2 different DT48s, you learn looks are not the only reason why you are buying a headphone.

fair enough. If it's magnesium housing and at least aluminum arcs that'd be nice (at least if they manage not to make it feel flimsy in your hands). Leather headband/pads will too. but I doubt we'd get that.

Re: only sound matters. Not really, comfort matters as well, if not more. Build quality as well.

Any idea on a release date?

I've read some horror stories on the build quality of the SA3000. Also the build quality or casing of the drivers affect the overall sound of the headphone in the case of dampening material and vibration control, and so forth. I also hope the cables attached to the drivers running outside of the casing have a firm grip. I'm waiting until buyers can verify their build quality and overall sound. I'm sure there will be some weak points for buyers to mod.

With any luck, they'll show up in Best Denki on the high-end table. If so, I'll give them a listen.

It's magnesium though, it'll have some glossiness than plastic.

Well, a lot of plastics now are made to look like higher quality metals.  Without experiencing things like magnesium or knurled aluminum people could associate those things w/ cheap plastics when they are hardly that.

Me too, except R10

If this is sound like R10, I'll definitely get one.

I love the no nonsense look on them. They seem very solidly built. I would like to see some deeper ear pads though. I would guess these would become sweaty very fast.
Looking forward to the first reviews!

hi all i have the zx700 and it sounds darn good for its price.treble extends till 19khz, mids are a little forward like shure iems and right where i want it to be, bass is very fast, tight, and extends to about 25hz before rolling off. i think it would suit recording purposes before it is more on flat representation. now bring on the z1000 reviews
