I don't carry a Sarcasm Meter anymore because it breaks every time I open my mouth.  Far too expensive...

The pads on these two look very different to me, so they could be the 2 different models.  The one on the left looks like leather, and the right pleather.  But hard to tell from a picture.

I am not 100% but I believe that the silver arm (left picture) belongs to the MDR Z1000 and the one on the right (Black arm) is the MDR ZX700.  I think they are indeed two different models, so it is posible one is leather and one pleather.  I also think there is an MDR ZX500 which looks similar but has black arm and black ear cup holder and is also available in all white.  I think this link provides the answer. http://www.waybeta.com/news/38926/zx-series:-sony-headphones-autumn-trend-new-chapter-_-sony-headphones-news/

Nice.  It's amazing how much better the model on the left in that pic looks, just from the pads.  I never noticed a headphone looking better just from the material of the pads like that.  But to me, in that pic, the model on the left looks expensive and the model on the right looks cheap/cheaper.  Interesting. EDIT: I guess it's also the silver arm that makes it look better too...

the white is

With any luck, they'll show up in Best Denki on the high-end table. If so, I'll give them a listen.

Might the ZX700 use the same drivers as Z1000?
