That's odd, Twelvebears. At least in the States, the prices are pretty similar. No markup at all for the 702, vs. 701... and the Quincy Jones versions are frequently on promotion - bringing the costs below the K's...

In Europe the Ks can be found with 195€ while the Qs with 466€....

holy ****, i was so startled by this i had to post it right now!......wearing the k701 headband has created MASSIVE grooves in my head. Like the headbands bumps have molded my head to the shape of the headband....no joke.

Just got a La Figaro 336C amp a few days ago, I'm really enjoying how this amp works with my Q701s.
the sound is relaxing and liquid.
Any other 336 series listeners out there?

You know, the bald people (I started early in the bald department so just shave it all off) do have a legit gripe about marks on the head. That said, a simple and great mod I've used is wearing a baseball cap. It adds a little more space between ear and phone, giving a little more depth and less treble. Or at least this is what I tell myself. Definitely eliminates grooves for the hair-challenged.

Been loving these headphones, but my HD650s should arrive soon.
 
Can't wait to finally see what all the fuss is about and make comparisons for myself. I think i'm setting the 650s up to fail though, my expectations are too high. Curious though, and i'm therefore excited.
