If you could pick any 4 headphones that you had to live with for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Also, try to be realistic in pricing, don't choose only the extremely expensive ones.

In no particular order:

  1. Sennheiser HD 598 - Great for just about anything
  2. Sennheiser HD 25-1 ii - Portable, beautiful, sounds excellent
  3. Ultrasone Pro 2900 or HFI 580 - I <3 bass
  4. Grado RS1i - Reference, recording engineer sounds like a neat job.

DT770              Love the ear pads
AKG Q701          Lime green.

Now that I've heard what the HD800 can do out of a well suited system, I could also live with just that one.

For portability, K271/2 or one of the newcomers I've yet to hear: K550, KNS6400 or SRH940.

Na I didn't assume it was a desert island scenario.

I was thinking more of a backpacking adventure. Living from place to place.

I figured if I got some good headphones (that aren't out of my budget), some day I could sell them off in case I ever got broke.

1 for listening, 2 kept in boxes (to sell off), 1 more in my bag (for emergency purposes lol).

JH16's
ES5's

That's all I'd need.

I love IEM's for travelling, limited space situations, outdoors, sitting in hotel rooms, bus, train, plane...

I'd need one pair of each (with a spare set in case of emergencies).

I could be happy with just a pair of SR60's for the rest of my life, but if I get to keep 4 I guess I'd have to go with the 4 I have functioning right now. One of which is a woodied SR60, my HF2, a Fostex T50, and my IEM's, the Sunrise SW Xcapes. The 225's would have to remain cupless in a plastic bag, forever needing to be reseated in some wood.

Was going to include Sennheiser HD800 but disappointed. :frowning2:
