Westone warranty is one year from unauthorized and 2 year from an authorized, if you register the product. Their are just a couple authorized online: Audiovengeance, EarphoneSolutions and another specializing in hearing products.

I haven't heard of any problems with the W4. I think there was lots of questions w/ the W3 lasting but lots of people got their seconds before their warranty expired. They are a good company though with a descent reputation. You'll at least get a solid two years and maybe longer. I haven't heard about any of the W4's going back...

I think almost all were problems with the braided wire unraveling... But the W3 appreciation thread may have more info on that. Besides that, it was just the occasional side going out. But I'm really careful with my iems and have never had a quality control issue with any of them, except the Audeo PFE.

Yeah. I can see plus sides for a nondetachable cable but for that kind of money I feel they should have included replaceable cables
