Huge Comparison of [almost] all the Best Bluetooth Headphones - post your own comparisons here

Well I went on Amazon UK at midnight to have a look and BANG there they were... I originally was looking at the Beoplay H7 and H8, but they only had £100 off on the natural coloured H7, so decided to look at the AKG instead as they're cheaper.  To be honest the availability went down really quick and when I saw them the black was 100% claimed and only the silver was available.  I went for the black waiting list and struck lucky as someone must have pulled out and I managed to get a pair.

It is an interesting time to buy Bluetooth headphones especially if one is waiting for the best technology.
Bluetooth 5.0 was announced in June 2016 and it will take some time before 5.0 headphones are released, most probably after the first 5.0 mobile phones (maybe iPhone 7 and next flagship Samsung Phones later this year). However BT 5.0 may not deliver better audio, but certainly will have greater range and is also set for iOT INTERNET OF THINGS, such as next generation smart home hubs where Bluetooth and wifi talk to each other. BT 5.0 range is expected to be upto 4 times greater (wow). Bose informed me that the audio quality will not improve "Bose UK Technical a staff".

For better audio quality AptX HD is coming which will be an improvement over current Aptx (380 kbps - about cd quality). You can go to AptX website to see the details. The new AptX HD will do this at 24 bit - so forget wires. Actually may sound better than most wired headphones as the audio quality from wired headphones is limited to the wire quality. i.e, silver dragons for HD650's are known to improve audio sound depending on individual opinions ofcourse.

Maybe Apple will improve on AAC.

BY THE WAY ON A MAC YOU CAN SET AAC BIT RATE MANUALLY VIA THE BLUETOOTH EXPLORER TOOL AND TO ME IT SOUNDS AS GOOD AS CURRENT APTX. I EXPERIMENTED AND COULD NOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN APTX AND HIGH BIT RATE AAC ON THE APPLE IMAC COMPUTER.

This is the reason I ended up getting the cheaper AKG for now as nobody knows what Apple will come up with for the iPhone 7 with regards to streaming tech.  They might use Bluetooth 4/5, maybe improve AAC or create something new?  Or use something like Pure?

Hi All,

Does anyone have I good advice for a pair of on ears, used mainly in the gym and at home with a max of € 150,- ?
There is so much available, but don't know what's good :-(

Spotted a nice deal for a pair of Harman Kardon Soho, but it seems they do not have a tight fit...

Look at what you can get the ONKYO H500BT for. It is a really solid option.

Can't seem to find it anywhere in The Netherlands.
One German review says the price is a (rather hefty for me) € 300,- :-(

Some options I've found would be:

Samsung Level On: € 115,-
Sony ZX7700BN: € 119,-
Jabra Move: € 65,-
.....Beats Solo 2: € 170,- ....
Harman Kardon Soho Wireless: € 129,-
Urban Ears Hellas: € 109,-

Really don't know what to do.
Main source would be my iPhone / Apple Watch
Like good sound, with a little + on the bass (not to heavy) .. should be a good fit for the gym (only strength no cardio)

Any thoughts

The Puro Sound Labs might be an option for you, certainly in your price range and the sound quality is quite good, as is the size suitable for true portability. My friend likes his very much.

Wow, Giogio has completely disappeared which is kind of worrisome, I hope he is okay. When I look at his profile it has been close to what, two months since he logged into head-fi, at least at last check. Hope you are okay Giogio, but with all the nasty happenings in Europe I do worry. Anyway, as I said, hope you are doing okay mate.

I'll second that.  If this is medical...certainly pray he's on the mend to full health.

Well, we will all hope for the best for sure, maybe he just grew sick of this place, but that seems unlikely. Anyway, for anybody interested I did post a review of the new ONKYO H500BT Bluetooth headphone.

Damn, you missed out on a great headphone. Still, I'm sure another opportunity will come around. I was following the Prime Day event, but I didn't need anything (sadly).

Looking forward to your LCD 2.2 review once things are squared away.  I've always shied away from trying it because of the weight (Titanium was 699.00 at Adorama a few weeks back but I missed that one too by a day).  Great time to be a headphone enthusiast...wish they had the shops like they did back in the 70's/80's.  Was much easier to try new gear out.  I might try a Nighthawk soon...on my radar list.

I'm curious about the Nighthawk as well, but it does seem to be a little polarizing and returning it isn't an option with most sellers I see. I am also dividing my time listening with the ONKYO A800 and LCD 2F, mostly the A800 as I want to review it soon as there is little known about this amazing headphone.

I'm probably going to regret saying anything; I was going to wait until I could get in touch with him...but Giogio might have left the building. He was very upset about the incident with A-Audio (see the top of page 165: http://www.head-fi.org/t/746519/huge-comparison-of-almost-all-the-best-bluetooth-headphones-post-your-own-comparisons-here/2460 )

And after I basically suggested he "get over it... If out of 100+ headphones this was the only bad experience, count yourself lucky..." Well, I never heard from him after that.

It's also 1 year since the whole Amazon mix-up...I'm hoping he's just "taking a break."

I do know that he was going to move to a different city and change positions/schools in June, so I was thinking that was it. But now I'm a little worried. I'll try to contact him again.

I'm glad to know there is at least a less somber possibility than something bad happening to him. Cheers.
