How many hours straight can you wear a "comfortable" set of headphones?

Well, except for tinnitus, of course.

We said wear, not listen. You could be wearing them for 6 hours but just listen for 1 or 2.

Q701 - About 4-5 hours before I feel a little pressure from the bumps. They rarely bother me.

HD-650 - All day. Somehow they're even more comfortable than the 598. I once even once was stupid and got up without realizing I had them on my head. Nearly broke the wire.
The cushions feel like pillows on your ears.

2nd most comfortable headphone I've ever owned was the K601 though.

I want to buy the DT-770 Pro 80 again just due to the comfort. I wish the DT-880 had to same design. DT-880 is painful due to the weird headband and shallow cups.

I can wear MDR-7550 for about 3 hours without any major discomfort.
UERM for about 30-40mins.
HD598 for about 2 hours.
SRH940 for about 30mins.

UERM 30 40 mins? Your fit has a problem trust me. I wear mine SE5way 6+ hours, still not a single discomfort. Ok mine is silicone earpiece but still ciems are supposed to be the most comfortable ones.

I can and do wear my T1's all day. When I had the HE-500 I loved the sound but I couldn't wear them more than 15 minutes without wanting to take them off. They felt like a brick on my head. I sold them for that reason and gave up on the idea of going with any other ortho (they are all heavy). I had the Stax 407/507 and the ear pads on those were created for tiny ears. They were light enough but the fit of the ear cups was terrible. Wound up sitting on top of my ear more than around them. I also could not keep my ears from touching the driver. Basically just a terrible design. Sold those also. Had the HD800 at home on demo and found them almost as comfortable as the T1's but they put pressure on my jaw. I can live with that.

I do what you described to my hd580s at least weekly. Good thing the cables are pretty strong!

That's my experience also, except that I didn't care for the sound of the HE-500 either. I still would have sold them if I had--a brick on the head is exactly right. I don't know if there's a way around the weight problem with orthos, but that plus the sheer bulk plus price plus ricketty construction rules them out for me.

I have worn my HD600s for 5 hours before and they were not uncomfortable whatsoever.
