RE-272 are just wonderful with HM-801 and Rockbox. I can only compare them with Etymotic ER-4 and some custom IEM-s like Unique Melody Merlin or Miracle.

i had some filters from either re-zero or re-262 which i put on my re-272 pair and it tamed the highs just a bit while darkening the sound just a tad

these now sound even better than before - so glad i went ahead and bought a back-up pair , these iems are such a gem

hifiman , you are the best !!!!

Is there any extension cable for the RE272 that reverses the channels but is balanced to balanced? With the included adapters, the only reverse adapter is unbalanced but I would like to listen to the RE272 over the ear in balanced mode.

Received my pair of RE-272s yesterday. I am currently burning em with some bass heavy tracks + white and pink noise.
From the first impression... I am sure I will like em more than RE-262s  they are deffo more universal for different genres of music /something I was missing with 262s.. rock music was too harsh to my ears with 262s/ and the details are simply insane I have never heard anything like this..what surprised me also.. the bass amount is nearly same as on 262s I thought that there will be zero bass after reading some reviews but thats not true lets see after 200hours..

i also had the re-262 and the moment i got the 272 , they vanished from my mind

has anyone here tried both re-272 and gr-10 ?

impressions ? i want to try the gr10 but at 2 times the money you need for re-272 i wonder if its worth it....

people said they sound like eq-5 , only a little better - and i thought re-272 outdid the eq-5 easily

Do you mean the Grado gr10? I can compare them with my 272's at work if you want. If my memory recalls, they're very detailed but have even less bass than the 272's.

I think they are both amazing earphones. But I do not think the GR10 is worth twice the money. I'd almost say the Re272 has made the GR10 obsolete, especially at the $200 price point. The GR10 does have amazing mids, but so does the RE272. As long as you're amping the RE272, I'd stick with it.

Random thoughts going through my head...

RE-272 vs Brainwavz B2. I have the B2, would the 272 be considered any kind of upgrade or just a different sound altogether? Any thoughts? Both are analytical, with well-textured bass over full-bodied bass, amp of choice is a Digizoid Zo (which is gdlk with the B2).

great big upgrade

similarish sounds, the 272 being brighter and lighter with a talent in the treble that obliterates the B2

seeing so many people discussing the new 1000$ shure iem , while this lovely 250$ iem went kinda unoticed , makes me sigh about the 'mental eyesight' of the people in this planet

oh well.....

This was brought up before, but I didn't really see a clear answer...

Do they RE-272's leak sound? Every IEM I have does not leak sound (Atrios, B2, BA-200).

I would be getting them for office use, so that would be a deal breaker. Also, are the Shure foam tips okay for use with them?

These?

Thanks!
