Thanks! I'll wait just a bit for the 600 and resulting reviews. I'll also look at a HM-801.

If what I read is true and  the re-600 takes the fluid signature of the re-400  "... and yields more space, more definition, and a more relaxed mid-band...", or "... more/better bass, more refined highs and overall clarity..." ... I have no doubt they will sound superb.  I just can't wait for reviews, need to start the burn in process ASAP

At around $400.00? Whoa.

But I see other universal brands introducing models at around a grand!

just curious, i ordered my re-400's today and i was wondering if they respond well to amping or not. thinking about buying a cmoy but maybe it's an unnecessary expenditure given that i only use iem's other than my sennheisers i use for the xbox.

I don't think the CMoy is going to improve much if anything at all, if you're using a decent device.

It's pointless to hook up amps/DACs unless you have stunning gears (i.e. at least around 400+) or **** DAPs. This is from experience.

Please tell that to my $15 Koss KSC75s.

But yeah, I tried re400 through my j3->arrow 4g. No noticeable difference without amp.

These sound excellent straight through my Macbook and iPhone. I might hook them up to my Leckerton out of curiosity, but I definitely don't need to.

I'm probably going to be picking up a set of RE-400's as a replacement for my dying UE 700's, but I wonder whether I should wait for the RE-600's and invest that extra $300. I was going to do that with the UE 900's so maybe I should do that with these guys.

I should be able to get my hands on a pair of RE-600s...  I have a 400 and UE 900 on hand already
