Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

I will. I'm letting them burn in for 50 hours and then I will start using them and see. I can tell they are much better and not someone else's returned repaired set. They look like a new line, unless they got really good at reshelling them. Hard to tell.

So, I'm curious, is the flexibility and appearance of the cloth-covered lower cable pretty much the same? Does it feel different in any way?

It looks and feels exactly the same from what I can remember/feel. The difference is the cloth part (lower part before the split) is perfectly smooth. No kinks etc. All the ones I had before had some weird kinks or bends and even the inner lining showing through. The V2 is smooth as smooth can get. The upper cable after the split looks and feels the same too.

All the ones I had looked like my past post: http://www.head-fi.org/t/632802/lightbox/post/12123083/id/1511069

In short they look the same and feel the same but just no visual issues like before in the lower part of the cloth cable where the issue was. Even the cloth goes into the strain relief whereas before it came out easily.

So apparently I have to pay $40 to exchange for re600s but they said a new re600 will come out next month that is more reliable then the old one.

Wait for the new one if they are willing to exchange for that for $40.

Yes you have to send in you're re600 for exchange for re600s and you have to pay $40 too.

That is better than $199.00. I would do it.

But they are out of stock until next month and they said that there coming out with a new re600 that's more reliable.

Edit: nvm only the re600 is out of stock.

It's worth waiting for unless you want to pay $40 for something that will fail again in the long run. I would not pay $1.00 for something to "have now" that would fail eventually. Take their fair offer to exchange for the new version. You will thank yourself in the long run.

Yeah I might pay the $40 and get the re600s or wait till next month for the new re600.

But honestly they should of just gave us a free exchange for the re600s

Just wait and be sure they will honor the $40 exchange for the new one so they don't later say sorry we can't or ask for more $$. That is a great offer from them for a new (fixed) version.
