I will have HE1000s to try later this week, looking forward to hooking it up to the Taurus Mk. 2.

You're in for quite a treat there my friend...

That's why I tell my wife all the gear is an investment ...hasn't gone over yet, but I keep working at it.

What amps are people liking with the HE560?

I've read back a bit and seeing a bit of talk of Vio/Lake People gear.  I heard the 560 on the weekend at a meet, and I have to say I did not enjoy them out of my NFB1/V200.  But I also heard them out of a NFB1/Soloist SL stack and thought they were incredible.

Love them with my Burson Conductor and a tad more with Burson as DAC and Gustard H10 as Amp. A friend uses them with the Oppo HA-1 in balanced mode and loves the result.

In a week or two I am getting the hifiman speaker tap to balanced converter, let's see what happens:D...

Cheers,
K

Nice... I just had some head time with it on Saturday at a friends house with a fully upgraded Woo WA5 - it was heaven.

But the HE560 held up well with the same amp, so I didn't die in agony after hearing the HE-1000, gladly.

Cheers,
K

K,

Thanks, hopefully I feel the same. If you haven't purchased the HiFiMan Speaker tap, let me know. I have one I don't use.

That's how I get her to agree to more gear, I have to reinvest. It keeps getting slightly better, will have Stax Rig by the time I am 80:smirk:.

BHA-1 and WA6. In that order. Absolutely divine. Clarity and musicality is spades, without compromising imaging.

Please remember the head-fier's prayer:

"Please dear God grant that if I do not wake, my spouse NOT sell my gear for what I told her (him) I paid for it!"

Well, since I'm not listening as much as I used to as home, the HD650 took the lead for my small listening sessions and type of music as a desktop solution, and my HE-560 has gone on sale: http://www.head-fi.org/t/751880/hifiman-he-560-plus-optional-focus-pads-a-price-drop

Wow, you have guts, I will give ya that!  650 for the 560...I guess there is some symmetry there in the numbers....

Speaks volumes about the power of personal tastes vs. boring specs, price/performance biases, and "consensus".
All the more power to ya.

I'm usually well versed enough in English to get what people are saying, but you lost me somewhere here

Wow, I owned a 650 for a year and I can't imagine a single aspect of the sound that they did better, let alone as well as the 560, not a thing. Now what the 650 does well is place a slight fuzzy warmth over everything which while appealing is shifting things so much so that it is like shooting fish in a barrel. I very much liked the 650, but they lacked clarity to the point that I felt there was a slight veil over everything. I would take some time before rushing into that de4cision if I were you.

The 650s are like crack in that they play to a very powerful audio pleasure zone which without enough critical evaluation seems like a great thing. If you take a  few weeks away from the 650, and play the 560 only then try to go back to the 650 you will certainly hear what I'm talking about. I'm saying nicely that your brain is on audio crack dude, but if you give it a chance to get clean, you';; start to hear details that you were missing and you'll see why the 560 is so special. Frankly it is a much better extended 650, at least in my opinion. Seriously, the 560 is a very special headphone, as was the 650, but the 560 is that much more. All in my highly subjective opinion and not meant to be represented as fact.
