HE-400 is an EDM fan's dream, no doubt about it.

I hope so, just got my ones this afternoon....coming from modest Superlux HD-662 which are really, really underrated cans for EDM.
BURN-IN time !

Does anyone know how easy it is to strip them down to the cups ? Is there a teardown of them anywhere ?

I'm looking into the possibility of getting the cups CNC cloned in hardwood similar to the rosewood on the LCD-2's......

You mean like this or this?

The drivers pop right out after you remove the earpad-side baffle held down by 6 screws, just need to un-solder them to fully detach them from the cups.

You should have cool story bro'ed the other guy loong ago lol

EDIT: Talking about detail, I once auditioned T1 in my friend's house for a good couple of hours which are known to have good amount of detail extraction but honestly speaking, the HE400 extracts enough even compared to it unless the song is extremely complex music.

Going back to my mackie mr8s studio monitors I've found them to sound incredibly grainy compared to the HE400s. I think the zero grain sound of the HE400 increases detail, and just gives everything that sweet and well defined sound.

Man those HE-500's look so sick, I would love to have a pair like that with the wood finish.

Gorgeous. I like it. That is one thing I think makes the hifiman looks good, very simple and clean cut.

I auditioned mine at AVSF in San Francisco on Van Ness. Antonio and Randy are both super awesome. But please note that they are not too happy about having you use their premises if you don't intend on purchasing from them. And I echo their sentiments.

Well of course, as long as they aren't overcharging over there, if the he400 is to my liking ill take it home. Do they let you bring your own setup? I just would like to bring ny laptop and e17
