Hi Colif,

Sorry to hear this, I have checked with headquarters and they also surmise that your unit would have to be returned, whether or not the fault was caused by hardware.

It appears you did eventually try the correct combo for forced restart (volume down+Power, for volume wheel based devices this has been remapped to the forward / rewind buttons), but that didn't help.

Best regards,
Joe
Hi Joe,
Could you be more precise on the remapping on the wheel based ones ? Is the forced restart triggered by FF/RW hold together for ??? seconds ? or is it a combination of power button + either FF, or RW ?
Thanks again.

Next track + power button held for over 10 seconds, for knob-based devices.

@Joe Bloggs or anyone else who might know: my device has an App called VIA which I believe is a browser. Is it safe to uninstall it?

Via browser - Its probably okay to remove it, its on the Google store. Can always get back again. Or use another browser and set as default.

Curious, were any of the commands I used the ones needed to get into Safe Mode? as shop asked if I tried it and I don't know - can't find combo in a search.

Hi Colif,

Our devices have a button combo for recovery mode.

None for safe mode (so it may be activated for next boot through the android system, but not via a key combo).

That's still irrelevant as the recovery mode command combo needs be pressed while the machine is off, and we never managed to get to that.

You may say this with my backing as the HiBy rep to confirm your device replacement.

Best regards,
Joe

Initial thoughts:
I had fun working out how to get into the app tray, i could find the background apps but I didn't know where to swipe for tray. Found it now. the onscreen tip wasn't really helpful as it didn't always show - guess I just blame Android.
Its not obvious why you get the warning "digital volume is locked" when you don't have any headphones plugged in. Took me a while to work out what was going on. I realise its because I didn't have any wired headphones plugged in. Could be explained better.

One question: I don't have much experience putting micro sd cards in. Do I put it in so that the label of the card is facing up.. in other words, do I put it in so label facing up in relation to the display (display would be above it). I prefer not to put it in wrong way. I can't seem to find an answer anywhere, its one of those questions you supposed to know answer to already.

The Gold connections have to be facing up. Might have to push it in with a pencil till it clicks.

Hi guys… just doing a little bit of due diligence before I bite the bullet and pick up a R6 pro ii. What iems would go best with this dap?
Really depends on the sound signature you are looking for & budget for synergy, but there is no bad combo. It is a very versatile DAP and it comes with a full tool kit; MSEB, PEQ and multiple plugins to fine tune the taste you are looking for.

Typically these cards actually physically cannot go in the wrong way, so no danger.
