Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More
May 16, 2024 at 6:01 AM Post #1,951 of 1,979
I had only enabled it so it was at default settings. It was the DRX10K one.
I didn't see the menu that lets you adjust values at all, as I hadn't tapped the name (didn't realise it was a link).
Makes me wonder what else I have set accidentally... goes looking.
"really tinny" is not how I would describe its default settings 🤔

It has dynamic enhancement to bass and treble by default, more to the bass.

Unless something is broken...

What were you listening to at what sample rate?

It's been a while since I've checked in on this topic.....
What to say after adding PEQ, now it's a complete, great sounding DAP, satisfying me 100%.
Except for the lack of crossfeed at the system level or as a plugin.
Apparently, this is Crossfeed. I’ve been using it and I do like it:

EDIT: It happens to be unchecked at this moment because I am listening to my speakers today.

Is this a crossfeed plugin? I always thought it was a plugin for widening or narrowing the stereo field. The description doesn't seem to mention crossfeed.
Interesting. Well to be honest now I am not sure. Tapping (?) doesn’t really say anything. Someone else in the forum told me that this was cross feed.

Judging by what I hear, this is still a regular stereo field widening/narrowing plugin. Although the use of crossfeed also to some extent leads to a narrowing of the stereo field due to the mutual penetration of channels, as a rule, such plug-ins are implemented somewhat more complexly.

It was all sorts. I am going to write it off as user error :)
Part of it was the using new headphones. I have worked out I probably didn't have a good seal on them the first night and am working on making sure they fit my ears better. they are smaller than the other IEM I have and don't block my ears as well as the others do. That is why they were tinny, no seal. They aren't now.

Does anyone know if R6 Pro II supports airplay 2?

It doesn't support Airplay at all. There are Play Store apps that may work but YMMV.

Okay...this is somewhat confusing.

Is it possible to use this without having to have a fixed sample rate for my music? And if so, exactly how is this configured? Do I leave the Fixed Sample Rate plugin disabled, and do I leave the same rate bypass setting in Convolution plugin unchecked?

Unfortunately not. (currently)

Thanks for confirming. I will pass on this function for now then, but thanks for trying anyway!
