Yes, I checked this review and checked with headquarters just now. It is not yet available. An update to enable this is expected next month.
Thanks, eagerly waiting for.

For those with the R1, would you be able to help check on this?

I have a Shanling M1 Plus and I wanted to use it as a transport with the Questyle M15C dongle. As the dongle does not have hardware volume buttons, I have to control via the DAP. However, perhaps the dongle is very powerful, the volume on my IEM is on the loud side even at digital volume 1. Essentially, I do not have any control over the volume out of the dongle.

Anyone with the R1 and a powerful dongle (ideally the M15C) be able to help test this out to see if the digital volume control is well executed on the R1?

For only $85? This is one hell of a DAP!

Initial impressions for now. It's small, light - it's a throwback to those old Sansa Clip/Zip/Fuze days. Quick UI.

Here's the R1 beside an Onix Alpha XI1

No issues reading a 1TB microSD card (exFAT)

And IMHO, a great transport for the Mojo/Mojo 2 (My reason why I purchased the R1)

please say what is battery life when use r1 with your usb dongle?

I own a lot of audio gear, but I really enjoyed using R1. I don't know why, but has superb tactility and I enjoy that

Would you compare SQ with other DAPs?

I did some comparisons at the end of the video.
Found, thanks. It is interesting. You accent on microdetails. I shortly used (now have sold out) player (DX180) which uses the same DAC CS43131. For my ears this DAC glues microdetails into something smooth, thereby losing these microdetails. It's great if R1 avoids this gluing.

Hi, anyone using R1 as a transport and able to test with a powerful dongle (or something at max volume)? I would like to hear if there is the ability to control the volume, or it gets too loud at volume 1.

Many thanks.

It holds up well, as long as you're not trying to power planars or high ohm cans. It's very competant and I really can see anyone being disappointed in the sound, especially for the money. Now balanced configurations with more power are going to sound better with more demanding stuff, the stage will be bigger and such.

But...., the sound is very clear and as porta has said it does have some good micro details and extended treble and natural mids. It's a blast to use because of the size and design. Some bugs but after a couple more firmware upgrades this thing will rock. Battery life is decent too, and it makes an excellent BT or digital transport.

And it worked great on fiio ka15 which is a pretty powerful dongle in desktop mode. I've got my Sony, and my fiio and I've been using this little sucker alot. And it even glitches for me and I still like it. I do wish a normal EQ will be added and maybe a PEQ like on hiby for Android. I'm rambling but I was surprised by the sound quality for such a tiny dap.

Also Joe, I'd like to report error 13 is still happening after firmware update but volume resume is fixed. Would like some optimization, eq and dark theme. Oh and there's horrible clicking/popping/ loud noise when changing tracks on tidal.
Yes error 13 is a problem waking up from sleep. Yes dark mode would be great @Joe Bloggs

Actually trying a Samsung card to see if that helps with error 13. Tried 2 different SanDisk cards. Probably won't but hey what the heck.

Nope didn't help 😕

Question about maximum digital volume output. How is should work? Because my understanding is when enable, it is automatically set max volume when connecting usb dac, but on this player when I disable that function and then manually increase volume to 100 it is then much louder than when enabled max digital volume output. Is it should work like this or it is software bug.l?
