When I'm changing tracks on the built in Tidal app. Very loud clicks like every other track. Or a loud high pitched beep like sound, right when I change tracks to next or previous.
The built in tidal app?

As in the HiByMusic one?

In any case please get in touch with helllo@hiby.com with details. We are so far unable to duplicate. Can be a hardware issue?

Question about maximum digital volume output. How is should work? Because my understanding is when enable, it is automatically set max volume when connecting usb dac, but on this player when I disable that function and then manually increase volume to 100 it is then much louder than when enabled max digital volume output. Is it should work like this or it is software bug.l?
What firmware version are you on?

Yes the built in hibymusic tidal app, when changing tracks. Not a hardware issue, only happens on tidal. Ok tried tonight and it's not doing it? So IDK.

It is a self-imposed volume cap, on the headphone out, not a lock to lock the volume to that, and does not function on the usb digital volume output in the first place.

Are we talking about the same option?
There is max volume and other maximum digital volume output.
According to the devs, the latter doesn't exist so...

Does anyone tested the R1 with power-hungry DACs like Ibasso DC Elite?

Yep it's a mystery, when I have that off I can go to insane volume levels with a dac dongle. Lol, so I leave it off. 🙃 in fact I can go to insane volume levels with Bluetooth buds, compared to my other daps. This is going to be quite the little dap once they smooth things out. Would like album on artists when you scroll and album art on tidal. The processor should surely be up to it. But yeah I turned that maximum digital setting on and couldn't go as loud as if it was off. So should be called minimum digital volume 🙄

Funny, but hiby started as a software company, and now they make great hardware, but the software is not so great lol. At least on this little bugger.

Oh, I used BT yesterday and I'm happy to report it's comparable to my Sony dap which is one of my better ones with bt. Much better than the older R3 and R3 saber. Some drop outs by inference areas but my phone does that also. I guess you can't steam from your phone yet on ldac. I haven't tried but op said no go.

Yeah it’s best to use the iBasso Y CB19 cable with it and a small powerbank.

But this tiny setup is desktop quality when paired with DC-Elite I reckon.

Great! :) Waiting for a leather-like case for R1 for installing a magnet system

Wow! Great setup.

If the DC Elite is maxed out for its volume, do you get good volume control just using the R1? I was concerned that at the lowest digital volume on R1, it will still be very loud on 32ohm IEMs.

Many thanks for helping to test this.

I don’t use the R1 the way you mentioned above.

I always have MAX or 95 % digital volume from the USB Source. This being the HiBy R1 in this situation. I then only adjust the volume from the DC-Elite volume knob. As a safety protection I’ll always put my DC-Elite volume to the lowest level first when connecting to a source. Then I increase the volume on the DCE slowly to a comfortable level for listening.

edit: I only use with DC-Elite as the master volume control. I don’t adjust the volume using digital volume control from the USB input.
