i think this thread is a little silly, but it's fun, so here's what I've seen around town that I've recognized:

-several pairs of grados
-eggos
-portapros
-tons of E2s, a few pairs of E3s
-a lot of those silly bose noise-cancelling phones
-various low-end sennheisers
-a couple of pairs of hd25s (perhaps they were the cheaper hd25-sp. do those have the split headband as well?)

all in all, a fairly surprising amount of almost decent headphones...then again, i do go to a major engineering school, so i suppose that may have something to do with it.

Sitting in this computer lab, I see someone has abandoned what looks to be some senn mx400s from their iRiver...Some radioshack silicones and a little diluted alchohol and they'll be good as new...
Finders keepers?

No.
If you forgot your headphones for some reason you would want the finder to give them back to you.

Isn't there some place where you can bring them for lost stuff so he/she can pick them up when he/she realises they are missing?

seriously, here in the netherlands, I only (have been looking for a couple of days) see sony streetstyles, the standard earplugs and I saw a senn, dont know exactly which(I think the 4**). I think this is one of the best threads ever, 'cause now I got something to look for when I'm on the bus/train except for some futurama/family guy episodes on my x5.
Men, can't wait to order my alessandro ms-1's, but those bast**** dont mail me back. I want to know how much shipping to holland costs(on the site it says free, but you never know).

Allesandro shipping IS free worldwide. Don't worry about that.

I see all of about three models at my school... in order of popularity:

1. Sony MDR-V300: Everyone has a pair of these, it seems. I once had a pair as well, but never again. Got them for $20, traded for V500s, much better. These things are awful, they're all bass, washed out midrange, and pitiful treble. For $60, they're junk.
2. Sony MDR-V150: Similar sounding to the V300s. For $30, they're also junk.
3.. Apple iPod buds: *Shudders* I used to think these had decent sound... but after not hearing them for several years (and getting my V500's and later my HD545's) they're just terrible. Don't know how much they cost, but avoid them.

I just find it sad that people think $30 is too much for headphones (granted, I once was this way, but after receiving some Sennheiser HD545s... [I also converted one of my friends this way, hehehe]) Either way, it's funny to see tons of people walking around with those shiny silver sonys

I saw someone on campus (UMass Amherst) riding a bike with K271S's on, just after sunset. Seemed a little unsafe.

hehe after reading a few pages of these, i got to thinking..

wouldn't it be cool if there was like a small head-fi sticker thats a bright eye-catching color we stick onto our headphones/cable of the headphones, so if we were to actually a member we'd see the bright sticker and know they were a member?

ive seen SR80s, another pair of grados (didnt get a close look as to what they were), 2 pairs of eggos, several portapros.

most of them were at school, though ive seen quite a few portapros on the bus.

if anybody from vancouver/SFU sees a guy wearing Eggos or (soon KSC35s) on the bus/campus, it might be me!

Is this thing still going on? I'm surprised no one jumps on a newbie's case when they commit thread necromancy around here. Eien mighta gotten super-flamed if we were in Megatokyo Art & Drawing. Sparks coming out of your monitor! You realize what's happening right as it's too late. Like Robert DeNiro in Casino in that car bomb scene.

OK, I kid. I'm always taken aback at how chill you headfiers can be.

Has this been 34 pages of 'nothing but ibuds, dammit!' I've actually seen a decent number of what I think are Sony MDR J20s, which Bangraman says sound pretty decent.

And I often look in the mirror. So count Koss and Sennheiser ^_^.

My friends that run sound at the school all have HD280s or Shures. And they're not really headphones geeks... they just know what works for them.
