I plan to buy my first pair of good headphones this year. I listen most of classical music ([size=12.666666984558105px]symphony[/size] most of time) and easy music. I don't want to spend too much on it but can reach $300. Not sure if HD 449, 518, 598 or AKG K518. Thanks for help.

Most of time I will listen music from my laptop computer. Currently most of music files are MP3 (320K) I will get more flac (24/96). Budget is around $300 but prefer the cheaper one if the sound quality is good. Not sure the difference between open and close, I will use it in the office most of time so don't want it disturb other guys around my cubic. Thanks.

So you need a relatively efficient set of headphones that is closed back that is good for classical.
 
Some suggestions:
 
AudioTechnica A900 (neutral)
AudioTechnica A900X (more warmth/bass)
AKG K550 (neutral)
AKG K271 MKII (neutral, little warmth)
Beyer DT770 PRO 250ohm (warm, a little bassy) (pair with Fiio E10 usb DAC/AMP)
Brainwavz HM5 (neutral, warm)

I say check out the Mr Speakers Mad Dogs. They're easy to drive, are closed, and sound great for classical. In fact, I'm listening to some chamber music right now and they sound excellent. The acoustics of the venue come through crystal clear.
