Flc8s haven't been basshead approved yet... Ice hears lots of iems being "basshead" but to us they really aren't. I have two in my possession, RHA T10 and Hier 8's. Both I love, but neither is basshead.

Now on flc technology, the flc8s are great, honestly do you think it can be considered refined max bass, maybe I have the wrong configuration, what.tips do you have arranged

Is this my friend Eddie?

My FLC8 configuration is red/gray/gold and using stock white medium tips.

Of all the IEMs listed on the 3 lists (Impact, refined, no EQ or amp needed) I have tried only 1, the hisoundaudio wooduo2.  I just went back and forth on my iPhone with the FLC8 and wooduo2.  I would place the FLC8 above the wooduo2 on the no EQ or amp needed list.

The Aurisonics Kicker is one of the metallic coated ones?

I've owned a lot of metallic coated headphones over the years. Got rid of all of them pretty fast and now I just avoid them... that said I still want to try the kicker.

I had one set of Ultrasones I liked but I ended up selling them. They had pretty decent bass, I don't remember exactly what I didn't like a lot about them.

@Whataudiophile Only if you find a used MDR 7550 that cheap, which won't be easy, aside from that the 90EX is the best i know of, I honestly still use it almost daily.

Haha..You are right, dude. That's what I always thought. If a guy is into bass,he should own these two first. So that they will have some idea about what basshead iems are all about.

The 90EX is a beast, just like ATH cks77x.At least they are like siblings.

I have also three sets of XB90EX. They are very fragile, the black rubber piece in the base of the earphone body breaks easily and falls off. The inner foam in the earphone output tube is also not well glued. Sadly quality control of Sony is not good (even in the expensive XBA A2). They sound really good, best sub bass I have heard. I purchased now the JVC FXT-200LTD, good bass and better soundstage and highs.

My first set was stolen and the second has damaged one driver. Fortunately, I have not had problems with rubber parts (support ear) and bonding of cable housing. Still, worth every penny for the sub bass monster

Been itching to get a new IEM but if I don't see a nice sale on the kickers somewhere i'm gonna just get a second pair of XB90EX.

Taped + pinhole 7550 is sometimes as good, sometimes a little better than the 90EX.

Likewise there are song the ASG 2.5 does better than the Sony 16mm's, and vice versa.

I think I was expecting much more bass on AD01 then from cks77x (which I had for 4 months now) but they are pretty comparable and I had to return AD01's anyway due to one of earphones not being as loud as the other. Does it makes sense to even want more BASS? :D

Vapman, taking advantage of you says, I read some time ago that you were using IFI amp with 1.5W and I think that although the XB90 so much power swallowed smoothly, sooner or later end up damaging a driver. To me it happened to me with my fiio X3 (540mW-16Ω) and high gain.

@Basstion Project Polaris by Garage 1217, not iFi. I never damaged any of my IEMs or headphones with driving it with a lot of power. I am also careful not to push them too hard, though. Just because I am using 1.5w does not mean I am listening at extremely loud volumes.

You can damage IEMs wih 540mW, sure, I have no doubts about that.

All my life i've seen people shove high power amplifiers behind stereo speakers and blow the speakers out.... yet I have a more powerful power amplifier and never ever blew a speaker once. All that power can be dangerous if you're not careful with it.

Anyway.... I'm really thinking I might go ahead and spend $1k on my "end game" IEMs.

Yeah I know that really is just code word for "preventing upgrades by way of getting the best item possible.
