@warrior1975 has already volunteered himself as guinea pig. Let's hear his verdict first before a $1300 iem gets recommended on a thread where a $200 one is reigning supreme.

 Amen to that.

Hello guys! Any Basshead offering with replaceable cable, good isolation and fit? No amping, smartphone source. I'm pretty rough on my iems, recently destroyed two Chinese iems (piston 2.1 and zircons). I loved both of them but their isolation and durability is hilarious.
Alpha and delta ad 01? Some reviews say it's pretty bassy, but bassy enough for house, trance, trap, hardstyle, etc? Any other suggestion is welcome. :)

Today was the day.  My appointment to go to the Kumitate Lab office in Kudan****a.

I arrived to find my unpolished KL-KANON (With 6BA and switch option) IEMs ready for test fit and listen.

I don't know what I was expecting, but I guess I was expecting something... excellent?

The fit, and the sound, were not excellent.  It was something that "excellent" doesn't quite do justice.  Absolutely indescribable how amazing these things sound.  The fit was also much better than I expected.  I have a pair of custom acrylic plugs (just ear plugs for work), so I was expecting them to fit basically like them, but no....  These were much more snug in every way, but not to the point of being uncomfortable at all.  Just, super tight. Good.  I wanted a good seal to block out ambient noise.

The physical build quality is absolutely outstanding.

After the test fit and listen, they were polished and sprayed then cured.  The whole process took about an hour.

I tried a new version of their KL-REF demo unit which they made since my last visit.  Still preferred my KANON over it.

They keep the impressions and negatives for a year in case I want to order again.  I told them to come up with something with more drivers and I'll be back.  :p

I had these on today for about 5 hours and they are still super comfortable.  I'm so done with having foam in my ears. These are certainly not going to out-bass my ASG 2.5s, but the KL-KANONs will be in my ears 95% of the time from now on.

Very cool, congrats they look awesome. Why do you prefer the KANON's to the REF?

I don't know if it was just my amp combo, or an impedance issue, but all of my test songs sounded way better on the KL-KANONs

G-Easy I Mean It - Bass Test  <-- The KANON Killed it, REF as dropping out, but I listen WAY too loud.

KOAN Sound Wide Open - Bass Test 2  <-- KANON and REFs both distorting out, I'll just have to stick with the ASG 2.5 for this track. :)

I liked the KANON better than the K-Ref as well.  Dynamic only or BA only is apparently my thing as hybrids just don't cut it.

I never got to review the Kanon despite having it because I had about $15,000 worth of Kumitate gear and it made me nervous. The K-Ref was on it's last legs (dial). Loved it but the Kanon was the sweetest combo of stage ,bass, clarity out of the whole line-up.

Hi bassheads,

has anyone heard the TFZ Series 5 IEM? Supposedly the reviews on Head-Fi say it's for bassheads. It's currently US$60 at https://www.massdrop.com/buy/tfz-series-5-iem/ for the next few days.

Does it give a real basshead impact even if it needs to be EQ'd?

Cheers.

Just received my Bluetooth Moxpad X90 and it's definitely basshead during initial impressions (with eq (neutron)).

Bass is a bit loose (but doesn't bleed into the mids), mids are decent and treble is not extended making it quite dark. Soundstage isn't great but I can't complain for a $22 IEM especially with bluetooth.

And there are RFI issues with my pair at least.

I might be able to borrow a set from somebody and do a review.

EDIT:
That won't do you any good because of the time pressure (drop)
