Problem is I head someone talking about a single side copper non coiled cable for the hd25, but I cant find it.

There is a 3m long straight copper cable for the HD25-13 Sennheiser part no. 74532 or 515640.

Without double-checking #........I used 515640 - but had to order from Germany (Thomann Musikhaus) as Senn.USA would get one for me.

Is there a difference between the two cables I posted a few posts back?
And is there a cable shorter than 3m with a 3.5 plug that I can use.
Anyone knows the serial N° for the velour pads, gonna try to order everything directly from senn.

Btw I see people thinking about ordering the LE version of these phones (thats the one I bought) even though it does come with a nice travelling pouch and a short cable with an angles plug, it doesnt have the velour pads only pleather.

Sennheiser part no. 523874 (with angled plug) and 523876 (with straight plug) are both 2m long and steel. Velour pads are part no. 69417.

I've already got the 2m long angled steel cable, looks like i'm gonna have to go custom if I want short and copper.

You make cables? If so, would you PM me with a price idea?

copper 1,2-,1,5 meters, singelsided entry (or I would have gone with 580 cable),right angled plug.

thanx

I'm gonna reterminate the 37974, I pray to god almighty that the wires dont have that colored crappy plastic coating most cheap headphone have.
They are a pain to solder.

I bought the HD 25-1 last week and I have listened to them a little, but not that much. I really do love the ATH ES7. However, I want to compliment them with something that is a little darker than the 25-1. I am probably gonna end up trading the 25-1 for the Beyerdynamic 150. I will probably end up trading the HD 25-1 tomorrow with pics.

Try the hd25 with copper cable, I jsut installed it on my hd 25 and it makes a big difference.
I'm not a treble guy but I enjoyed it a lot last night, spent 2h listening to weird japanese music just to overdose on treble.

Rigth now the new Wilco album sounds awesome with my new cans!

Quick question for those who have replaced their cables: Is it as simple as plugging out the stock cable and plugging in, say, part 092885 (HD650 cable)? The phones and the cable would come out to about $120 and i'm thinking it might be a steal.

As long as you're OK with a "Y" connection to the cans, then yes - more or less. You'll still need to slide the cans completely off, reverse them, then plug in the 650 cable.

Making a different cable fit just like the existing is a different matter. There are unequal lengths used as the one channel is fed through the headphone band to the other can. Plus, the total cable has to be small enough to fit into the headband recesses.

I tried the HD650 cable for over a year. After awhile, I tried the stock steel cable on a lark. Lo and behold - it was superior in every respect. I guess it took that long for the headphones to break-in. The steel cable has sparkle and dynamics to it, whereas the 650 cable does not. I continue to use the stock steel cable ever since. When the cans are brand new, though, the steel cable can cause awful sibilance.

Thanks for the response. I just noticed that the 650 cable is 1/4 inch and I was planning on picking up the HD 25 as part of a future portable rig. I will see what the stock cable has to offer before looking at potential replacements.
