They probably sound like rs1e than rs1i with the red driver.

The dimensions, colours and position of the drivers are RS1e. The plug is characteristic of the RS1i. There were a quite a few, I think.

As an owner of the RS1i/e Frankenstein transitional headphones, I thought that I would look for an RS1e thread here on Head-fi. Nothing, except for a lot of adverts from people who are selling their RS1e.That speaks for itself... My RS1i/e are now banished to a friend's house, for when I need headphones there. Last time that I used them, I thought that they were improving after A LOT of burn-in. I hope to be spending some time with them over the next week. Here's hoping...

What the RS1e need is A LOT of burning time.

I hope you're right. I'm going away with the PS500s and a Chord TT. I'm looking forward to making some comparisons. I'll also have the headphone out on a Naim Supernait 2 and a simple Mac Mini computer rig with a Meridian Explorer...the RS1(e?) is waiting for me.

EDIT: I also took you seriously... alas. A brief glimmer of hope...

I am finding that the RS1e's big brother, the GS1000e, also needs a LOT of burnin time.  I am over 160 hours and the sound 1) is less good than that of the GS1000i, and 2) is still improving with use.  Don't know whether it will eventually overshoot the GS1000i.

I know that French is my native tongue, but that wasn't a grammar mistake on my part.

I apologize to all, I mean, to the, RS1e fan out there, about saying that your beloved headphones need a lot of ''burning'' time.

I have the normal "SR325" in aluminum, i think it´s the one that came after the "gold" model. So the current RS1e is not that good?

A normal 325 would be black anodized aluminum, so you have a 325i/is.
The RS1e didn't go over well. As @zazex said, if your going to get an RS1 go for the RS1i (or earlier) or the RS2e which is a highly recommended HP.
