Okay, this is still my thread so Ima update the OP post after work and give my grados some love to see if I really want to get rid of them.

Don't you dare!

I've been tempted a few times to sell mine, then I give them a quick listen just in case... then I always think awwww man! At the end of the day there are still no other hp's that do what they do.

RS2i #8959 here checking in. It's my first pair of proper headphones, got them about 3 months ago and I'm still in disbelief how good and energetic music can sound.

Minor mods: G-cush foam pads + Martin Lantinen's bare polished aluminum gimbals and rodblocks.

#11020 here, just taken them out the box and been listening for about half an hour. This is a different world than my 325is, so far my expectations have been overseen by a mile!

Well I haven't posted in a while but you accidently a letter in my name haha.

Any way I think I'm ready to move to the dark side and get some HE-400s. As in in between until I hopefully sell my Grados I was thinking I would get a magni and plug it into my RS1i for now.

  Nice RS-1 Nick.

Does anyone know how to remove those black form from the old dry out cushion?

My RS-1 has many of them and I really like to clean them up.  Any suggestion?  Thanks.

Depending on how badly stuck it is, clean the heck out of an old toothbrush and then scrub gently and see what happens.

Sorry... fixed it! (but worth it to get you to post again!) Oh, and I listen to my RS1is more than I do my HE-500s.  HE-500 has more visceral sub-bass, but not as much transparency, and I can get enhanced bass feeling in the RS1i by the excellent job it does on reproducing the harmonics of the bass tone... only miss the fundamental!

Lol, I haven't found a need to go here once I had my rs1i. I bought the expensive thing and upgradidis was cured for a time. The only  reason I'm not fully satisfied is i listen to more genres outside of rock than I used to, like trance, than I used to.
