A listing for a grado hemp has popped up locally should i buy it? I heard that the hemp is more bassy thaan most grados and thats why im thyinking about it. The seller said it comes with the original F pads and Nyczaj pads, the price is 340 euros and i can buy the hemp new for 380 euros. On the pictures it looks like it is the older revision with the non braided cable.
Our setups are pretty much the same, I've got the ZMF Atrium, Bokeh, and then a couple of Grados. Lately, I've stuck to Grado and ZMF for headphone purchases, avoiding other brands. Having both options strikes a good balance for the sound I like, adapting to different moods and music types. **Both John and Zach really know their stuff when it comes to tuning headphones!**

The Hemp is fun. And yes, aside from the SR325x I’d say it has the most bass — PS2000e evaluation pending.
Regarding old vs. new: I think the driver didn’t change. So it comes down to preference for the kind of cable. And if you want white stitching in the headband
If you don’t need/want the additional pads, 40€ diff might not be the best of deals though.
I own 3 ZMF headphones: beautiful wood, detachable cables. Visited their booth at the high end Munich. Lots of communication here online and YouTube/instagram. Really like the headphones.
But....
Grado is for me the real: other 'open' headphones do sound so closed after listing.
The music is so alive. Grado for life!
Among my amps I have a Violectric V200 and it likes Grados and the Grados like it. It is one of my favored matches along with several others within my collection. A good number of fellow Grado addicts use a Violectric in that situation. I am sure you will get more positive reports as the day goes on. I know of several fan club buddies matching them up.
Good luck and enjoy.
It’s hiding in the rack of amps below on the right stack on the second shelf.
Getting into amp pairing questions… does anyone have experience with Grados on a Schiit Lyr+? I’m not a tube guy, but a touch of tube goodness might be nice… and it also operates as solid state only.

I use a Lyr+ with my Grados (with Bifrost 2/64). Wonderful tone and timbre. PSVANE CV-181 tube. Good quality tracks are holographic with excellent placement and separation.
I run my GH2 and Hemp on a Violectric DHA V590² Pro and am VERY happy with the sound. The HA-6A tubes didn’t add anything worth mentioning. Have a Vali2 that I played the last couple of days (with the E3, though)… will try and remember to hook up the Grados when I have it out again…
I’m actually selling the HA-6A, first and foremost to make some room on my console. And to have some space for trying different setups

Since Grados are only single-ended, the V202 may be a less expensive option for you. The only thing the V222 gives you that the V202 doesn't is the balanced output (and more power via the balanced vs SE). For SE only, the V202 is just as good.
Just bought that GH1 from Canuck Audio Mart Super excited as it seems like such a special headphone and ended up costing less than an RS2x would! Lately I've been thinking that I want to downsize my headphone "collection" to just the Verite and one Grado, so it'll be interesting to compare the GH1 and 225x, but I'll likely be putting the 225x up for sale (and probably Atticus too)
