I find that the GH2's have a nice amount of bass with my Violectric V220, or for you, the V281.
And they are pretty fun with a tube amp.
Lastly, the iFi amp with bass boost really gives them some fun.

They won't match the Focal Clear's for bass, but those mids...along with some added bass is addictive.
Just picked up a Little Dot MKII for my Grados. Excited to see what it's all about!

Having said this I dug out my RS-1 and my PS500... While the RS-1 has quite a different balance, it is so lively and engaging... maybe I have to pull the ad I put up for it.
I think I also have to spend a bit more time with the PS500... it has a fun signature. Minor quibble is I'd have preferred a small jack on both so I can use them with my iPod without an adapter. Maybe get the PS500e after all? Anyway, the M17 offers 6.3mm.

Do not sell the RS-1, those are phenomenal!

Having heard them today... yes, they are special indeed. The cable has a few kinks, but otherwise they are in mint condition. You're right, I think I should keep them.
And while looking just so nicely old-school, they also sound good.

.... and I am really 😍😍 GH2 with L-pads!! ☑️
We'll have to agree to disagree there. I Love my BA and Shipibo pads.

I have owned three different Grado's and never liked a single stock pad.

... and when 'dressed up', RS-1 sounds even better

... er, you're supposed to use a L and a R earpad! One would be as uncomfy as hell! 😢🤣

When ordering then you have to specify the elastic pad that covers both left and right channels simultaneously. Truly amazing engineering.

Well, the left side of my GS3000x just died. It was everything OK on Monday, went to a business trip, came back and suddenly there is no sound on the left side. No one touched it. It is actually the first Grado which failed me inclusive the the 20+ years old HP2i I had. It is still under guarantee, since I bought it 3 March last year back in Germany. But I guess I have to retrofit the gimbals and headband to the factory one If I want to service it. I was suprised by this to say the least.

The Grado RS1is still one of the best, Grado ever made. The others have been steps to the side but not absolutely up. Bass surprises me again and again. And it is so naturaly, balanced sounding.
From the Littel Dots I would prefer mk1 to mk2. MK1as a hybrid delivers more current so you get more punch out of your Gados. Have upgrade my MK1 with Burson V6 Vivid and Mullard Tubes.
