Third time is the charm. This is the 3rd attempt to use the ZMF pads on my Hemp. Somehow it feels so right now. I'm really enjoying it. From comfort on the head to the tone, the Hemp's just ham it.

How are the Grado RS2's? Not the e or x variants the originals?

I have the opportunity to buy a set at a decent price but would like opinions of those who've experienced them, I like Vocal, Country, Folk mainly.

I had the original RS2 for some months (before I sold it) in 2015: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/grado-fan-club.530965/page-1754#post-11756253

To be honest, it didn't 'click' with a part of my musical taste at that time, because I felt it lacked in the (sub)low frequencies with genres like rock, trip-hop and EDM. But for the genres you mentioned above (which I also like to listen to occasionally) I think it sounded pretty sweet/good. Btw, if you can pick one up for a decent price, I would certainly give it a try. If you don't like it enough, you can always sell it without a big financial loss later on, right?

Hope this helps a bit and good luck with making the right decision! :)

Edit: in case you meant the original version with the buttons, then I wouldn't know. Haven't heard that one myself.

I suppose I will hop aboard the same train this morning! Happy Listening!

You made me realize that I'm neglecting my RS2e, so I put my GW100x and GS3000e away for now.

I usually don’t do much in the way of pad rolling but these seemed like there may be potential here (no, not really).

Seemed like a post that might get some smiles.

On the large one you can just slice it and experiment with the results.

Is there an audible advantage to the metal stirrups? I wouldn't think so, but they do look nice.

Actually, the Beyer Solid Leather, should be the warmest pad from ZMF for Grado, and closest to Grado Flat Pad sound. While the Perforated Leather, closest to Bowl Pad sound.

Have you tried this perforated pad with RS1X?

I have tried the perforated pad with RS1X but it's a very tight fit because the chassis is slightly bigger than Hemp. I also want to preserve the RS1X original sound whereas with the Hemp, I don't mind a fun, relaxing tone with increase warmth and bass which is what these Beyer does.
