PS2000e suits heavy electronic/metal/rock music? If not them then what grado? Something with X or non? I was having PS500e and they are most close to bass needed for such genre and visible instrument/details on the top end. Maybe new PS2000x gonna have that heavy boom?

No likely successors to any P series headphone. The PS500e has better bass than most and does respond well to using the Grado flat pads to enhance that and yet still have a clean open sound. The original Vintage RS1 with buttons does very well across the board and is excellent. As both this and the PS500e are both discontinued they could be hard to track down. Besides, due to the lack of supply you would probably never lose any money should you sell.

There no gonna be Pro series no more? Hmmm, unexpected. I kinda waiting for PS2000x or something like that. So GS3000x is all we got right now? I stick to SE Master 1 and D8000 then. I was having PS500e but buying them second time have no sense to me right now.

Then again if you happen across a Joseph Grado Signature HP1000 series (HP1 & HP2 preferably) try to get a listen. There would be an assortment of amps that could do them justice.

Superb results with the Melos SHA-1.

Tap on photo to expand so it is easier to see the Melos which is the rack mounted Silver face.

Hmmm, thank you for advice, but i dont think i ever buy them. That's an old hp's and this deal carry too much risk considering price they come with. I got Abyss 1266 Phi TC inside my head but first i think i want to try McIntosh MHA150 and maybe sell Qutest/Anni stack if he fit me.

I stand by my initial impression: the GH2 and the PS500e sound very similar, but the GH2 has more flow/fun while the PS500e sounds a little cleaner/detailed. But other than that: dos hermanos, twins even, but dizygotic.
The GH2 sounds fantastic with the headphone jack of my old iPad. It also works really well with my Dragonfly Cobalt. Balanced sound, no EQ or pad swapping needed. Very unlike the RS2e that always sounded a little too thin without a little help (but with a little help it sounds better than the GH2)

Has anybody compared the GH2 to the Hemp?

Rs2e's arrived this morning :)

So much lighter than my 325e's. Sound lovely, punchy & sweet. Official G cushions are a big improvement on the cheap 3rd party ones I have brought for other Grados.

I have had to remove the 2 rubber stoppers on the ends of the adjustment bars. They squeak as they rub against the leather headband. not had that before. Might try putting a bit of lubricant on them later. Any better solutions? It's probably because I have a gloriously large noggin !

update: replaced stoppers with those from the 325e....no more squeaking. I dunno why :)

Looking for some opinions/advice here. I'm looking to get a new amp. I originally was using a Vali 2++ with my Grado's, but I didn't think it gave me much of the tube sound I was originally looking for. Not a big surprise I guess since it's a hybrid. Would the WA6 (not SE) give me more of that tube sound I'm after with Grado's? Is there another option around the same price or cheaper than the WA6 that isn't a hybrid or ss that will give me a good tube experience with low impedance headphones? The true tube amps that are cheaper than the WA6 all seem like they don't go well with Grado's and would have too much of a noise floor.
You might want to look at Little Dot amps. I had a MKIII that I enjoyed with my Grado's. I now have a MK9 and have spent the last several days running my Grado Hemps through the MK9 and it was very nice. I was running Best Of playlists from the 60's to the 90's and everything was sounding great, especially drums and guitars.
Affordable new and very cheap used.

How much of a noticeable difference would it really be going from a Vali 2 to this? Is there any noise floor with the MKIII or MK9 with Grado's? Idk how "tubey" the MKIII or MK9 sounds and if the tubes actually make a difference in it. Seems like either wouldn't sound overly tubey and it would be on more of the neutral side when comparing to other tube amps but idk. Is the MK9 more tubey than the MKIII?
