I kinda also want to see JH audio's place :) Harvey has soo much experience in this field. he might just be the Steve Jobs of IEM's. Working in ultimate ears, made it a success. Worked extremely well with WEstone to make designs. Helped make Shure's first IEM's with Westone...stuff happened. Westone betrayed Ultimate Ears. Ultimate Ears, through Harvey's ultimate coordination lived through. Bought out my logitech. good for a couple years. forced out. went into aviation headphones....was succesful. but found his true calling again....mad experience this man :)

Personally I really liked the Fiio E-11.

Powerful little device with nice different sound modes.. Adds tones of bass and definitely brings headphones to their potential.
Paired really well with Shure SRh440's.

So you're experienced with the Fiio E-11? Can you please explain whats good about it because I'm thinking about getting it for my v700, but I'm not sure if it would be a good buy so I want to know your experience with it.

I haven't necessarily been called out, but I've been asked questions like, What are those? Are they better than the beats? Most of the time I just say there Sonys and that they have good SQ. I go to high school where I'm probably the only one rocking Sony mdr-v700 while everyone else has beats or skull candy or even coby. I get stared by people when roaming the halls and the expression on their faces seems like they want to know the heck I'm wearing and why I bought them. Since I'm the only guy at the lunch table with over-ears headphones and probably the only one in school that knows about headphones nobody bashes me, but only a few listened to them and really loved them, I actually got a friend about thinking of buying one. I wish to teach them and others about headphones since I want to teach what I learned so far (quite frankly I learned a lot in a short period of time with headphones).

The beats are terribly muddy. the solo's have very impactfull full bass, but since it's over ear, doesn't isolate, and it's incredibly muddy. ....and then it all goes downhill. let's just say..theres no highs and lows at all.

The studio's are actually pretty decent. They have a good low frequency. and a pretty flat graph all the way through. However.....for $300 it's not worth it.

Yeah I guess, I haven't really heard the beats in a long time, but before I got into headphones I was fascinated by the beats and thought "they were great" and wanted it badly, but then I did research and was the lucky ones to save their money from buying something they will forever regret. It took me 6 months to finally conclude on buying my 700s and now want to expand my headphone collection even more, but I don't know where to start.

Bass roll-off at 60Hz, random and very extreme treble peaks, and recessed mids. Someone posted a while back even the K701 puts the Beats sub bass to shame.

Well, it's the K701. Even though the K701 has that infamous bass impact that everybody loves
wink.gif
it still has much better beats than the Beats (stupid pun intended).

Interesting findings from holiday shopping.............

I went to this place called FYE and saw the KSC75! Portapros (though $20 overpriced) Koss ProDJ and they have another type of Koss at the listening stations!
blink.gif
They also had the $20 SEnnheisers HD2** whatever, pretty impressive.

Then i was at Best Buy and heard this little girl telling her mom she wanted Beats
eek.gif
And the mom is saying "oh yah she broke (or lost) her other pair of beats, the ones by Dr. Dre and she wants another" i was like whaaaaaaaa...
I tried the $60 Sennheiser HD4** and they were pretty sweet, probably better than the Beats...the Bose station was broken as always

LOL

I just bought a pair of KSC75 from FYE. And I saw all those headphones there; the Portapro, ProDJ 100 and 202. The Portapro are way to expensive at $50 but the KSC75 isn't bad at $20 because I save money not having to add an item to increase my amazon cart to $25.
