I've A/B tested the Z1R with regular and the custom tips, I prefer the sound from the custom tips and the comfort will work for anyone. IIFC, the main difference is with the treble. I don't have a treble problem with the Z1R with either tip types. I do have some treble sensitivity when there is too much glare. I don't experience that with the Z1R. The bass is perfect both ways.
Definitely worth a try. Just be warned, they have a very small nozzle diameter, so you may need to learn the trick to get them on. Angled point of entry, turn the tip inside out, push like you are giving birth, when the second side crosses the lip, push down hard. That's how you fit 10 pounds of sand into a 5 pound tip.

I've had a kidney stone. Women tell me its worse than giving birth. But, I was with my wife for the birth of my 3 sons and took the La Maz courses, so I am familiar with the instructions if not the direct experience. By the way, I should have credited you with the technique because you are the one who taught it to me and it took me 3 days to master it. Now, I feel like I can get any tip onto any IEM.
Heads up, I'm selling Eletech Iliad. Since paring down my collection I just haven't used it enough to justify keeping it.
I'm giving one of the best prices ever on an Iliad, so act quickly if you're interested
Genre specific EQ presets is one thing, but IEM specific DAP presets, that's on a different level RS6 on burn-in now, R-2R discrete dac needs it, quite a noticeable change in sound from out of the box to overnight.

@riverground lives "close" enough for him to bring the stuff by for a session for the week that he has it. I'm just not keen on providing the level of personal info required for tours.
@Colors is closer but hes been quit audio for over a year now.
Newest arrival, the qdc Dmagic 3D. After 120 hours of burn-in for those three dynamic drivers on each side, the sound is quite impressive. Marcus at Headfonics gave this set a 92 score, and I concur the Dmagic deserves the praise.
