See now while we might not agree on burn-in, crude jokes are where we come together!

EDIT - I see what I may have done here lol
Like that Beatles song, "come together right now over me".

^^ The pulled out part had me doing a double take

I can't believe you guys caught that so quickly. You really do read what I post, lmao... Didnt' want to push the issue to hard. That could possibly soften the meaning of the original post . I thought it was pretty ballsy of him to include all of that. #downtheholewego #tryingtoincreasemylikes lmao

I had the SE100 on loan for a while, and can confirm what @kubig123 says. It has a very recognizable house sound compared to the SP1000. It’s not as warm as the Cu or 1Z (but closer to Cu than SS), and its stage might be a bit smaller, but overall it feels more similar than different. It definitely leans towards smooth rather than bright, although I’m not sure I find it tonally ‘warm’ oddly enough, as it seems to be more of a dark-neutral (I’m making that a thing); a smooth upper treble so detail is not artificially enhanced, yet the timbre itself is not particularly warm. Hugo 2 is closer to neutral from memory, and more resolved. But as mentioned, for half of the Ultima’s price it is quite a deal. I would have to pay closer attention to sum up the differences.

Also, it is an absolute looker. Say what you want about AK, by all means, but damn can they make some fine designs. It might be the most beautiful dap I’ve seen, and it’s also significantly lighter than the SP1000 (although it also feels less sturdy). Really classy.

Thanks for your impressions flinkenick! Someone in the SE100 thread claimed it is more fatiguing than the SE1000, do you feel it has more detectable digititus than other flagships such as the LPG, AK380, WM1Z & DX200? Those Sabre DACs sometimes have a reputation for being etched and sterile and I'm keen to know if the SE100 avoids this.

Just a little bit of IEM-porn. I've seen a complete wood inlay custom shell, full carbon fibre shell, and now this: a complete silver body custom iem, the single dynamic driver Eden. If someone wants to out-bling their girlfriend/wife, this might do the trick. Comes with matching price tag ($600+ depending on model, available for hybrids or DD's). According to Sammy it is warmer than the uni (if that is of relevance). I will be hearing Eden next week btw, but the poor man's version :D

I think that will outbling ceelo green

yes i prefer their japanese version of the song, Bukakke.
You guys deserve more upvotes!

Nic has now outdone himself. He uses the words PORN, inLAY, BODY, DRIVER, girlfriend/wife, DD's all in the same post. Oh, also the word warmer, but hey I pulled out enough. What a wordsmith.
I didn't want to be the one to drag the level down (again), so I restrained myself from posting last night. But since you guys really ran with this, you could have also added 'wood', 'man, and 'comes' from the original post to that list. In fact, one could even question the validity of a girlfriend/wife without these three.

That is an interesting question. Personally, I did not find anything fatiguing about the SE100. It has a very smooth sig, neither the bass, mids or treble, are particularly forward or energetic, especially when compared to something like the LPG. But I have indeed heard from Rick that distortion for instance can cause fatigue in 2ch regardless of tonality. In general, people have a lot of different sensitivities, so it is possible that that person is very sensitive to this aspect. But honestly, I would be surprised if that is a general complaint. The Ultima Cu is warmer than the SE100, but both are really buttery smooth, at least to me.

Random notes:
DITA asked me to post a thread for the Twins, if anybody is interested. I have almost finished the review. This stuff is so much work, reminded me why I quit in the first place :D

I went to listen to IE800s and Atlas again for comparisons. Pretty impressed by the IE800s. The bass is quite laid-back, so its notes are very lean, and its vocal position is small and distant. But as a result, the stage is very airy, and the separation is excellent. It feels extremely spacious, even though it is mostly due to the note structure, rather than the absolute dimensions. The extension on both ends is also good, so its resolution is quite high, and the quality of the bass in terms of definition and speed is good, although its quantity is pretty marginal when it comes to impact. Its tone was close to neutral, and it seemed to be smooth. It's not an impressive signature when you look at the individual components, but the presentation as a whole is very refined, which was something I quite enjoyed listening to for that reason.

Also took a listen to the Campfire Comet, and liked it. Despite its single driver, the midrange has nice body, and it had a sort of lightly warm, playful tone that was neither particularly warm or bright; just very well balanced. At the bottom end it is rolled off, but the mid-bass had sufficient quantity to sound engaging and impactful. Similarly, the top-end extension was not very good, so despite that it sounds clear, it was veiled. But I doubt this is something that people in that price class will notice. All in all, I thought this was a very good tuning for its price, just great balance in what it offered.
