Was just down at the local headphone store chatting with one of the salesman. As confirmed the new VE iem will be shown at the personal audio show happening here in Hong Kong from 16 - 18 Mar and that the approximate price for them would be about EUR4000...

Reminds me of an old post-communism Russian joke: Two recently wealthy friends meet outside a posh men's store, sporting beautiful ties. One looks at the other and says: "What a beautiful tie you're wearing! How much did you pay for it?" The other friend replies: "300 euro". "They screwed you, my friend" says the first one, "Look at mine: 500 euro!".
Does that sound familiar?

That was what he said and when he did a conversion it was over HKD40,000...
OK, so that would be approx $5K

But the most important question remains: 'How does it sound?' 'Does it also come with the special tin foil hat (which was shown on the former page), for a guaranteed, extraterrestrial interference free, listening experience?'

I wonder where the trend will stop.. when IEMs will cost as much as the Abyss  ?

Still, I really trust VE... the VE8 are worth every penny, but the law of diminishing returns... sigh

Damm,
here goes my excitement....

Well, they haven't been launched yet.
So, (as @Asspirin already suggested above) we'll have to wait for its official price announcement to be sure about that

I'm out of audiobudget atm anyway, so I'm just gonna sit back and relax...

Same here, no budget and so nothing more to do than just relax. ...although, I must admit that new universal TOTL Vision Ears IEMs with multiple sound signatures does tickle me in all the right places. :D
