Final Audio Design Impressions and Discussion Thread

I haven't heard FH1, but it sounds like you want something thicc with good control, and no peaks.

E5000 has no peaks, it is thicc, but the bass control is given by the source, not by it. This means that you need a good source to drive them properly and to keep them under control :)
I drove them with Cayin N5II which has the best bass response under $500 DAPs IMO with EQ off. The FH1 I tried was a demo unit, it might be broken but I am not sure.

Can confirm N5ii + E5000 is a great fit out of SE, but especially balanced.

It adds some sparkle and transparency in the bass.

How is the isolation in noisy environments? I use IEMs mostly while travelling.

I use it on the subway no problem.

I really wish Final Audio would sell this. The Make series is starting to pop up here in Hong Kong, I will get the Make3 as its probably using the same dynamic driver used in the E4000 and E5000 although I may be wrong. Link here: http://snext-final.com/en/products/detail/MAKE3

According to Final's comments on the crowdfunding page, the dynamic driver for the Make series is new. Google translate actually does pretty well with this one:

"for MAKE 2, BA type driver and dynamic type driver were newly made for the MAKE series.
The BA type driver is also a bespoke product that also contains the final logo!
Dynamic type driver is the same basic design as E series, but specification is different. "

Oh my!
This looks great :)

Why wouldn't they sell it?

I want MAKE2 !!!

I really like their schematics about SQ perception

I think the E5000 is implemented psychoacoustic research. Final mentions it on their product page.

One of my peers about the E5000 “Technical ability is so-so but it sounds nice.”

Thanks for clearing that up. Makes me more excited to get one. :)

They'll actually sell the Make Series, at least here in Hong Kong... No idea if they will sell them to other countries. What I meant was the FI-DO6 Matte Black, I wish final would sell them as well. :) More info and pictures of the FI-DO6 here in this Japanese blog: http://e-earphone.blog/?p=1266173

This may be a silly question, but does anyone think that it would be beneficial to own both the E4000 and the E5000? Are the differences between the two substantial enough to justify that?

Imo, the E5000 is a lot better than the E4000 which has generic tuning whereas the E5000 is something special and has a unique sound.

Upgrading from the E4000 to E5000 makes sense but having the E5000 and buying the E4000 doesn’t imo. Best to demo both however.
