I just bought the pros and you can turn the volume up to deafening levels without experiencing any distortion. If I were you and like it loud, I would go for the pros.
Have u tried a bass boost using eq see if it brings back a kinda d8000 tuning or anyone for that matter ?

A question about repair and support does final offer housing and driver replacements parts for sale ? Or only repair service and maybe an idea on pricing ? It's kinda a future proof question

The key thing with the D8000 regarding the maximum volume level is the type of music listened to. I you listen to bass heavy music a lot, the drivers will definitely hit the magnets at low-mid 90dB levels.

Would it be safe(rr) purchase to get the pros ?!

If you like bassy music at high levels (>95dB), yes. There is, however, a tonal difference between the D8000 and Pro, the midrange is more prominent on the Pro. I prefer the D8000 tuning a bit more than the Pro, but they’re both really excellent choices. I’ve learned to listen at safer levels so my hearing is not impaired in the future.

Buy the way, I bought final’s silver OFC cable for my D8000, the same cable other than length that is included with the Pro. My view about the midrange difference between the two is not due to a different cable being used in comparison.

i guess the real question is, is the d8000 better with the new silver cable :p

Hi, I would say so using the OFC xlr balanced version with my D8000.
I can now identify a greater insight in the music, like a veil had been lifted of, together with a bit more snappy sound signature. Great being greater without sacrifices.
I’m happy!😄

I'm torn I can buy a d8000 or pro for only 200 difference and I don't know what to choose, headphones Ive owned are zmf auteur blackwood, eikon cherry, hd800, aeon open, hifiman ananda(tour for 2 weeks) I'm liking audio technica mids does the d8000 pro have a better vocal presence, as to convey more emotions? Or just have a more forward mid range, vs the original?

200 extra is a no brainer I think, the silver cable alone sells for $600+. And the Pro is miles ahead of the headphones you listed. It's essentially TC and Susvara tier SQ, maybe a touch behind but right up there w/ the best IMO.
