200 extra is a no brainer I think, the silver cable alone sells for $600+. And the Pro is miles ahead of the headphones you listed. It's essentially TC and Susvara tier SQ, maybe a touch behind but right up there w/ the best IMO.
I'm just trying to figure out which tonality suits my taste, but from a value standpoint I agree

I must confess that I have never experienced this driver clipping, with my D8000.
I have to presume not to listen at high volumes, even if I never have the feeling of wanting more. Or maybe is my music (rock, prog metal, jazz, funky) not overbloated with bass...
Do you have any test tracks to recommend on Tidal, to experience this problem?
My unit is fairly new, has there been any silent revision with changes trickled down from the Pro?

Nope guys, listening some tracks louder than my usual I don't find nothing strange, only a great slam. I would never hear an entire album so loud.
My rig: Benchmark DAC3 HGC-->IFI Pro iCAN (solid state)-->D8000, all balanced wiring

Nice rig, try swap stock tubes for WE396A, and forget SS mode :D
Ok
I tried in SS because bass hits harder. With tubes the D8000 becomes more neutral and less "brutal".

Perhaps there was a running change on the D8000 to allow for higher listening levels.

I will never for the life of me, understand how people can say a $200, $1000, $2000 headphone sounds remotely as good as What I'm hearing right screwing now... more impressions to come. (d8000 pro)

bro what is happening right now... there are things im hearing i've never heard, even the vocals gained a whole different depth, I'm returning my Audio technica ATH-AWTK... there is no way.... I didn't think vocals could sound better, I can't believe it.

I need a headphone stand for these :O

I'd give up my Camaro SS before I'd give these up. I just listened to a song that I always test for vocals and just the way the song conveyed emotion to me, not until today has a headphone given me the same feeling as I did when I first heard it through my La Figaro 339 + HD650 combo, the Final D8000 pro do it better in every way.

? im assuming you mean you were able to create a 3rd cable using the 3m cable ? because this headphone doesn't come with 3.
In Hong Kong they had a special. So it came with a 3.5 cable , a long 6.5 and a third cable of my chosing , so I chose a 4.4.
