Here are my short impressions about the FiiO M3K:jecklinsmile:

The FiiO M3K is a great choice if you are looking for a compact, portable audio player with a price below $ 100, good battery life, small size, a large number of codec’s, preety fast user interface, and better sound quality as your phone offers. The M3K has aslo some nice extra features like USB DAC and Hi-Fi voice recording functions.

Pros and Cons:

  • + Good Sound Quality
  • + Fairly Balanced Sound for a Budget Device
  • + Great Battery life
  • + Small Size and Fast UI
  • + Voice Recording and USB DAC features
  • - No Wireless Streaming capability (Bluetooth)
  • - The touchpad is fast but needs getting used to
  • - Subbass needs a touch more depth

Hello,
Does anyone know if it is possible to reload older firmware in case of not liking new?
I have experienced other firmware updates that can not be removed and have had problems with other devises.
And it looks like from what I read on other thread that "within artist" shuffle and play all has not been added, can anyone confirm please?
Thank you!

I suggest to split the files with medieval cue splitter and delete the cue files and any Playlist files afterwards. There is gapless playback in settings and this way you do not confuse the player and you can delete individual crappy songs.

Love the new firmware custom eq and how it changes the players sound quality.Adding some weight and depth to the low end, leaving the excellent treble alone has been a game changer for me with this player.

Hi
I've noticed that when listening to HR tracks the custom EQ does not appear to work, on normal flacs and mp3 320's the eq setting works.
Also when using custom eq whilst listening to a track and scrolling quickly through any menu the scrolling jumps and dose not move smoothly, this does not happen when a track is paused.
I have downloaded the new firmware several times and it's still a problem. Has anyone else had this issue or is it just my player, feedback would be appreciated. Cheers!

People cannot tell the difference between normal 16bit flac and higher resolution files in blind tests. You are only wasting battery life and storage. It does feel a bit more laggy now, with custom eq though, unfortunately this is true. But it is not a big issue. No sound clipping or skipping, just a slight UI delay, controls work. The other thing that makes it even more laggy is if you have big pictures in the folder. Ditch any picture bigger than 1mb.

Does anyone know of an alternative to the included protective case? Perhaps a vendor somewhere has one made of out plastic similar to the style of case included with the M6?

In the Browse Files option I see ghost folder FOUND.000 and it's really not present in my card. Anyone knows how to get rid of it or maybe experienced this same issue?

I too have noticed the odd UI performance hit whilst using a custom eq. Ive tried just about everything I can think of to get around this but to no avail. Hopefully this can be remedied in a future update.

Dear friend,

1. Since EQ adjustment for high sampling rate songs would sometimes cause system delay, so we have set the Equalizer to be invalid for songs that with higher sampling rate than 48 kHz.
2. We have reported to the engineer about the delay when using custom EQ, they will try to check about that first.

Best regards

Dear friend,

It may be a hidden files in your card. You could try to format the card and copy your music files only to check if it helps? We will try to hide the hidden files in later firmware update.

Best regards

Thank you for response. I have enabled shows hidden files in my Windows Explorer, but there are no such hidden folder. For now, additional FOUND.001 folder appeared as well. I believe reformat will solve this, but with my collection, it's too much of a hassle. For now. I will continue experimentation, but I am absolutely in love with this player. Many comments and requests will be posted.

Hi.

Just got my M3K today.
I immediately installed the latest firmware (v1.3.0) of course
Soundwise it's great, but when i'm playing music (FLAC files but i noticed that it happens on mp3 as well) the UI is really laggy.
Scrolling through files is really really slow...
Is it normal?
