I am going to be putting up my DX220+AMP8EX for sale very soon and quite cheap for quick sale since I upgraded to R8, just a headsup. :)

literally a week after I bought same! I'm sure you won't have a hard time finding someone!

Re: battery life, I left my new DX220 on last night using the break-in cable at volume 67, medium gain, shuffling the 5500 or so tracks on my sd card, about 50% of which are hi-res files. I started at 100% battery, and 6 hours and 18 minutes later I returned and it was off/battery fully drained. I was hoping it would last longer than this under these conditions, but alas. Overall it's not a huge deal for me given my intended usage and the availability of power and portable power just about everywhere I intend to use this thing, but figured it might be useful for others to know.

That's very realistic. What i personally do w/ my most fav hi-res albums, i down sample them to 16 bit. There's a noticeable improvement in back up time...

I guess I should have mentioned that it obviously died before 6:18, and it was room temp when I got down here, so let's assume at least 10-15 mins before that. And thanks for the tip re down sampling, I'll try that for long trips with no power.

I seem to recall that the dx220 didn't play very well as a standalone DAC/amp. Is it possible to use an Android OnePlus 6 as a transport via USB OTG?

The problem is that drop down menu is not active if I connect DAP to Mac. It starts charging but I cannot change the USB setup. As well in the setting it is says something like no usb connected and menu is inactive itself.

To be honest this sounds like more of a cable problem...it can charge but can't transfer data. Are you using the included cable? Also, I had a similar issue on PC but resetting the device and reupdating the firmware to current seems to have cured it. Good luck.

I would try a different port on the computer and like above, a different cable. You are on the latest firmware?

I have also found that rotating the USB C connector 180 degrees and reinserting to help. This is the case on a Choetech cable that works fine in one orientation, but only charges in the other. Not sure what's going on there but it is reproducible. Oneplus cables are good but pricey.

have now also updated the software via OTA.
The first tests on the Hifiman Ananda have really brought about a significant change.
John Prine, The Tree of Forgivness ..... voice, guitar, even more real and a little more harmonious. Sounds more plump, more coherent, but always with fine details  :relaxed:

I'm already looking forward to the amp 8 and 9 ... I'm just missing some time.
