just installed google play store and an UAPP on the original IBasso firmware (1.18...) So im actually using all the benefits I need from google. Can you please tell me what kind of advantages Lurker's firmware has? Before i thought that it was mainly for getting access to the Google Play Store. But u dont need this. Does maybe Lurker's firmware give better sound or battery life? Thank you in advance.

the new '300 is all great but there's something very special 'bout the '229, most noticeably in the Mids. more fluid, engaging, more hifi.
Not only that the sub-bass as well as the percussions.
Idk, maybe i'm really just a tube guy, lols...

Did someone listen to the dx220 with beyerdynamic xelento? I have standard amp and the sound is soo fluid, wet, bold, organic and almost analog that i think there is no way to pair it with amp9? what do you think guys?

"Fluid, wet, bold, organic" is what springs to mind with Amp 8 under many different mod ways.
I can hear (I think) the difference between 1 and 8 in stock form, and that is with big planar cans for reference.

From what i read it seams that amp 1 is just a stock reference and "basic" in therms of sound and power and i believe you. But im focused on the synergy with Xelento. Would it be too much with amp8/9? I know those amps have more power etc but im using quite sensitive iems. Im ver very happy with the sound, just wondering.

I use the UM MEST and InEar Prophile S with Amp8 - both pair fantastically. Maybe see if you can pick up an Amp8 secondhand - I doubt you'll be disappointed, but at least it reduces the financial risk.

I think am a rookie in this field. Have never heard mest (although i read many good things about them) and have no idea how Prophile S compare to the xelento in terms of timbre and tuning. So still this no answer to my question but its not a problem, thank you guys anyway. As i wrote, im really happy with the sound im getting from stock amp.

You will need this if you are a tube guy and also love Ibasso

IBasso please step up. Dx220 sounds fantastic, almost crying during listening sessions.. The sound is utterly fantastic, but everything else is crap. Mango player is lagging, the player itself is getting so hot that I could fry eggs on it. I dont even mention battery life.. its complete crap and disappointing. But the sound.. OMG its magic

Maybe take your time and work on every device longer to optimise it better. Its a DAP world and it needs to be more complex. Keep your sound signature, its tremendous. But other things need to be more useful and user friendly. You can chase away A&K and show completely new standards, but it needs to be well optimised. Just my opinion.
